A photo of the day thread

Got dragged out today to replace a leaking hydraulic hose, decided to take the camper and fill up with lpg at Low Row services on the A69 as the three outlets in Carlisle that I've used in the past are all closed down now.
This is a view across the South Tyne, with Langley viaduct just behind me.

Spotted an all white pheasant too, bit far away for my phone, but here's the snap anyway.

Brancaster Beach this afternoon. 28 degree. The tide went out…and out and out… Walked a whole mile out to paddle at the waters edge. Worth the walk as 3 seals were bobbing about

Last time we were at Brancaster in April it was a lot busier than that. It was the first trip in the motorhome for muttly. He wasn’t sure about sand so he sat in the rocks by the kiosk.

A weekday and the kids are in school. Pretty sure it would have been busy over the warm and sunny weekend though. Nice to see zero litter. I always lift a bit or two when out and about but nothing there today

A view across field, nothing special but the mist was strange, clear at the bottom so you could see the woods [7.20am near Alconbury, using iPhone se)

P.S. 27'C in the shade.

Just starting another Peter Robinson crime novel... Inspector Banks... I love the descriptions that crop up in his novels, of the Yorkshire Dales and villages. I often wonder if our Yorkshire funsters recognise them.

How can you spread jam on top of cream? Surely the cream just gets pushed around. 😃😃
If you have the right consistency of cream then its no problem, If you put the jam first and then you try to put the cream on, you drag the jam, whereas the cream is heavier. The two English counties famous for cream teas are Cornwall and Devon, and they differ on order. Cornish cream tea will do jam then cream, Devonian's do it the other way around; and as 'A day out of Devon is a day wasted' there is no further point in procrastinating further. Even our Queen does it the wrong way round, god bless her. 🫖
