A couple of grey skies days since we got home..

A day trip to Silloth on Sunday and the East Cote Lighthouse at Skinburness.
Originally built 1841 but rebuilt in the same style late C20.

When we got home last week the garden was looking a bit dry so gave it a good watering and seems to have rejuvenated...

Was sent to Coventry last year by Jim, just managed to get here today for the first time. Don’t know what all the fuss was about, it’s quite nice.

Herefordshire - during late afternoon today. We had some sunshine for the first time this week :-) Not the most glamorous of locations, but at least we’re surrounded by trees. And it’s not too crowded.

Speaking of growing "Wonky Veg" we grew this bad boy a couple of years back. We ended up taking it to a Fun Rally where it was entered into a guess the weight competition, proceeds to charity.(y)
Well it performed well on the day, brought tears of laughter as some ladies who held onto it far too long.;)
It was won in the by a single lady I believe, as she got nearest to actual weight, there's no substitute for experience eh?

Feeding time at the feeding station!

Had a ride up to Haweswater Reservoir yesterday.
Not been (although its only about 15 miles from home) since the drought of 1995.

The water is fairly low just now and some of the remains of Mardale village are just starting to show again..

The signs on the gate are ridiculous and excessive. Three signs saying No Camping, one of which ironically says “Welcome“, another sign that tells you to check their website or phone their office for all the rules and regulations pertaining to accessing the area, and then in small print it tells you you won’t be able to get a phone signal.
It depresses me to see so much regulation. It’s also worrying to see the low reservoir levels.
Other than that namwaldog - great photos!😉
