A photo of the day thread

Just mucking about on the north side of the valley today. Grand day getting warmer. Loads of bird life but rubbish camera skills. Red Kite, jay, kestrel, etc
Just a picture of expectant mums.
I'd be worried if my sheep's droppings looked like those. 💩

Today's walk was from Benitachell up to Cumbre Del Sol , been up in the car and on the bikes a couple of times, and now walked up. 👍 Bob.

There's always something quite special about having lunch on the side of a mountain. 😁

While we have yet more coffee and 😉 cake this time, following the boat are two black things we think are fin whales as they are around in the marina alta, we had dolphins in Javea last week, and these were not dolphins it's a shame we was so far away with only our phones. 🤔

Another great walk but very warm. 😎 Bob.

Oh David. I bet you and your lovely wife can't wait to hug him... He is adorable... and he and my grandaughter could make lovely cakes together. :)

Bridgnorth, Shropshire 😀
Now I remember! A beautiful town. We used to visit an elderly spinster aunt who lived there in the 70s. The steam railway used to pass the bottom of her garden. In more recent times we have stayed with a friend at the delightfully-named, Betton Strange. (Spell checker must have corrected Betton a dozen times before it accepted it!)

On today's dog walk, this is what passes for hedge cutting these days, my poor old Dad (ex estate worker) would be turning in his grave !
At least they did it before the nesting season has gone into full swing ?

That's shocking by anyone's standards. I used to admire the skill of the hedge-layer when I was young and would watch them for hours.
But you should consider yourself lucky to have hedges of any shape or size. When people ask me what I miss from Britain I say "bricks, stone and hedges".
Kiwis curse the Scottish for bringing gorse to NZ. They planted hedges with it and it went rampant .. and still is, but now hedges have been replaced with wire. In fact, it's often said that if you give a Kiwi a length of Number 8 fencing wire he can make anything. They call it Kiwi Ingenuity.

A Quokka. Native to Rottnest Island off Perth i believe.. Mrs Bob tormenting it.
