A photo of the day thread

From my book I think they overwinter in that part of Spain, the rest of the European population go to Africa. Not a common bird.
Yes there are lots here at El Rocio and there were a lot at La Janda, Tarifa but even more rare Bald ibis at the watch tower at Conil de la Frontera

My Collins Bird Guide has the Bald Ibis as extinct in Europe, it's obviously out of date and doesn't know about the reintroduction programs in Germany and Spain. The German project doesn't seem to be going as well as the Spanish one according to my bit of quick reading. Some of the Spanish birds are now migrating to Morocco where the last birds in the wild survived.

No real idea of the species
He was between 10”/12”long I just saw him scrabble up over the top and very quick but posed there for quite a while but never came back over the top so that we could see all of him? we love all of the birds and animals out here saw a Short toed Eagle with a big snake in its talons earlier wasn’t quick enough to take a picture though?

Walking back to van and you don’t want to see loads of smoke, not a nice feeling ( our van behind the first one)
Smell a bit of smoke.

Today at Marazion. Free parking direct access to seafront and St. Michaels Mount.
Had to cross the road to see that the plants were actually painted on the sun drenched wall.

Fallow deer prints*, Nelder Wood near Cornwood, South Dartmoor.

* I think it is as I've seen them in this area, which is fenced off from sheep. The toes are splayed out which is apparently what Fallow do on muddy ground.

I recognise that 2nd photo I think. Arrieta?
I’ve noticed the car park at that restaurant is used for a bit of wild camping, popular with German motorhomes.
Yup. Many campers there. It's a nice spot. Mainly Spanish nowadays.

Why are photos suddenly not showing up on my phone please?
