On the Sierra Nevada near Amócita. 30 degrees C. February. Just sayin....

DBK
One of our all time favourite sites, at any time of year.

The Three Magpies and the Barge are both good pubs with good food, and dog friendly too. (y)

Don't worry, you can't flood a canal.
Phil
We did have a chat about that. The Barge Inn is on a slope, so to speak, with locks above and below it. Barring a massive inundation the water should flow away downstream. The land to the north is also below the canal. Including this site! :)

A barge on the Kennet and Avon Canal which has suffered a fire. Inside completely burned out and full of water. I suspect it might be sitting on the bottom. The white thing around it is an oil boom to control any leakage of diesel. A sad end to someone's dreams I fear.

At one end of Porthpean beach but out of site is an old mine working.

A few years ago we went inside as far as daylight would let us. Could be a copper mine looking at the colour of the run off water?

We visited Lacock yesterday, which is a few miles north of Devizes. It is a village almost entirely owned by the National Trust. Parking the MH was no problem, there is an NT car park on the edge of the village, free to use.

The place has appeared in a lot of TV programs and has also featured in one of the Harry Potter films.

We had lunch in the George Inn, yet another Wadsworth's pub. On the wall they had several photographs from the program making, including one of Dumbledore signing autographs. :)

The abbey is supposed to be good but we missed this as we had Charlie with us.

This is a bit of " slow television". The launch of a narrow boat at Caen Hill Marina on the Kennet and Avon Canal. See if you can spot the top of a jogger's head passing by about a third of the way through. Charlie nearly knocked him into the canal when he jumped up. :)
