Bath Abbey- lovely to see. Especially at night.

Lumpy sea today.
Usual dog walk for me. I don’t know why but new puppy dog pulls me into the pier house hotel for socialising! Apparently it’s very important for dogs to socialise!

Look closely at Charlestown and the last white detached house used to be a public toilet. Up for sale not long ago for 75k. Now a rental holiday home.

Love your photo's of the area ,we will be searching out these places as we are moving down your way in the next couple of months to Gorran Haven

Think it was you who told us about banon cheese festival. Are you going ? We will try to be there Friday pm
It probably was me, I started a little thread about it a couple of weeks ago. Sadly, if it had been on a week earlier we would have gone but we are booked on a ferry from Livorno on the Saturday.

I don't think you will have any problem finding space on Friday. We arrived on the Saturday and though the aire was full they allow parking on the hard standing below the aire. This has a roofed structure in it so is easy to spot. The French all arrived late afternoon onwards and filled this up solid, we couldn't have got out even if we wanted but they all left on Sunday afternoon leaving us on our own. If you park overlooking the field below you will be able to watch the display of sheep wrangling with dogs and horses. It gets lively on the Saturday evening too. :)

You must give us a nudge when you arrive!

Gorran is lovely and a quaint Cornish village. We have looked at moving their ourselves.

We are thinking of selling up and down sizing. Its hard as we are moments away from the coastal path. We like the Roseland peninsula and looking for a house near Portscatho.

Our second choice is the new forest, inside the gridded area, donkeys, ponies and the like.

Such a difficult decision

Here's 2 pics with a difference :)

When I had my big crash at Mallory in 2007, the end of my radius bone broke off and stopped proper movement. It set in the wrong position. It was declared too hard to operate on. But I saw a good specialist who took me to the annual European wrist surgeons convention in Aylesbury to show them.
I had Europe's finest discussing how to repair it. They came up trumps and I then had a quite difficult operation after them needing to break my wrist to free the duff bit which set wrong.
They told me that they would insert a morphine pipe into my chest, for me to control the pain after the op. And flip did it hurt <Broken link removed>

But I got 90% of the movement back in my wrist. Was about 30% before and very painful

Anyway, at the hospital yesterday, I had the wrist x-rayed and I saw the metalwork for the first time today. It looks cool

Really had to get away from le mistral so checked on ventusky and headed east to Gordes where there is a light breeze and t shirts and shorts were finally used. Got into Provence 4 days earlier than expected so slow down time now and weather watching to see if we can stay on top of ventoux at last

Thanks @Riverbankannie for being my guinea pig for this next part

Decided on the motorbike instead of the 3.3 metre motorhome as the height limit was 3.3m on the gorges de la nesque when my future petit dejeuner came out to block the road. For future reference they are by the belvedere and scrap over strawberries. They were rubbing against some people who were eating but I didn't want them near me. Last one is Sault

Mrs D acer's seem to be loving life at the moment & some other stuff, bit late for photos just now light wise & my crap photography

Beautiful Acers. Envious as it is too windy in my garden for them to survive.
The yellow one never survives long because of the wind, this is the longest it ever lasted without wind burnt leaves.

Out on the bike today. Tried staying up ventoux last night but failed as the sault road doesnt open til today.
Came up to savaillons. Corker stop.
Out on the bike for the day. Montclus and savaillons photos

Yes a Canary by the looks must have escaped from somewhere, by all accounts they don't last long as other birds get them. Do you know anyone near you that owns one.
Not offhand,it was in a hurry when I saw it last, lucky to have a 300mm lens in at the time. Those shots were from about 100ft away.

Saw this nice green lizard on our walk along the Loire, it was on the track and ran into the grass. Luckily we managed to stop our JRT before she caught it.
