A photo of the day thread

A Jamaican sunset.

Not the best picture, I know, but grabbed on an iPhone just before the sun set.

Drove the sum total of 23 miles and found this little gem for our overnight at Mellon Udrigle on the shores of Gruinard Bay.

It is in SearchforSites, £7 a night + £3 for using CDP. Pick your own spot amongst the dunes.

Margaret summed it up well...
"Far from the Madding Crowd"
Thanks for that, lovely place. CamperContact #21979 as well. :)

Just pitched up at Port na Baigh campsite nr to Achiltibuie overlooking the Summer Isles.
Not too impressed, although the shop, reception, showers and toilets are brand new and spotless, we don't need them and the £20.50 without ehu is a bit steep.

Plus side is you can pick your own pitch :whistle: and the views over to the Summer Isles approaching the site are breathtaking.

Stopped for some shopping at Tesco in Ullapool on the way up here and the reflections on Loch Broom were rather special.

The Basque region is not a pretty place.

The town itself isn’t that pretty the old quarter was ok for a few hours but the drive up through the mountains was quite nice but I guess any city in the pouring rain isn’t that great. One of the many things I don’t understand is the Guggenheim museum ,what a load of nonsense one room full of hundreds of tons of stell plate and an other with condoms in it I will never understand art lol

Moved a bit further up the West Coast of Scotland today. Travelled the back road from Polbain to Lochinvar. Beautiful scenery.

At the junction to Ullapool where we turned off there was a road sign saying" unsuitable for vehicles over 8 metres" We are OK then!!!
What a road. We had 6 inches either side between stone walls and rock cliffs for a good portion of the way. Took us almost two hours to do 12 miles and we only met one oncoming car. Didn't take any photos of narrow bits but this is a Google streetview screenshot of one part.

Got to Lochinvar and then onwards to Stoer Lighthouse for a late lunch.

Could just about make out the Isle of Harris in the distance.

Anyone up to a challenge?

Hi Barry. We also have a 7.5mtr van and went down the back road to Lochinvar .After coming past some of the more tight spots we pulled in to let a car come from the back of us. The car parked up at the side of us and gave us a right earful. She was ranting that we hadn’t read the notice at the start of the road, saying NO CARAVANS Couldn’t get it into her head that we weren’t a caravan. She wouldn’t let us move till she had finished on her soap box.

And where might this place be?
Pembrokshire, Conifers Pentraeth. Found it when camping but now in motorhome. Levels are needed here and narrow roads but worth it. Sent the good lady on foot before committing to the road. Lol
