Walked earlier today with Laika the wonder dog along the Thames. I always see Cormorants but not in this number and in one place. I suppose it goes to show how good the fishing is in the Thames.
We were south side of the river , to your right would be Canary Wharf.

The top pic was taken just before noon, in York, just shows how cold it is....Normally heaving with tourists.

There's been alot of activity & TV crews around today as there was a ceremony & 21 gun salute to mark the 66th anniversary of the Queen coming to the throne. These 2 V handsome chappies were happy to chat, only one admitted to wearing thermals, poor things were due to be out there most of the day.....Never asked the obvious question of the one in the kilt

This is a logger headed shrike, normally found in North America but a regular perched on a tree I can see from where we are at the moment in Villajoyosa. Not a very good photo because my lens is not big enough and he sits too far away. Other pic is a Hoopoo which is a frequent visitor also.

First is a Stork and second is a Squacco Heron(a lot smaller than a Stork)

Not trying to be a kill joy but I think It’s more likely to be an Iberian Shrike I can’t find any birding reports of the logger head anywhere (but I could be wrong)

Not trying to be a kill joy but I think It’s more likely to be an Iberian Shrike I can’t find any birding reports of the logger head anywhere (but I could be wrong)

Cheers for that Alan, just googled them both and they look very similar. That explains why I could not find any info on the loggerhead being in Spain. But the Iberian one is all over Spain. Thanks again.
