The top pic was taken just before noon, in York, just shows how cold it is....Normally heaving with tourists.

There's been alot of activity & TV crews around today as there was a ceremony & 21 gun salute to mark the 66th anniversary of the Queen coming to the throne. These 2 V handsome chappies were happy to chat:D, only one admitted to wearing thermals:LOL:, poor things were due to be out there most of the day.....Never asked the obvious question of the one in the kilt;)

So what is the difference @Speve ? Or do we have to wait a while to find out?

This is a logger headed shrike, normally found in North America but a regular perched on a tree I can see from where we are at the moment in Villajoyosa. Not a very good photo because my lens is not big enough and he sits too far away. Other pic is a Hoopoo which is a frequent visitor also.

Not trying to be a kill joy but I think It’s more likely to be an Iberian Shrike I can’t find any birding reports of the logger head anywhere (but I could be wrong)(y)(y)(y)

Cheers for that Alan, just googled them both and they look very similar. That explains why I could not find any info on the loggerhead being in Spain. But the Iberian one is all over Spain. Thanks again. (y)
