A photo of the day thread

Think our paths must have just crossed somewhere. We're hoping to be at Avila Wednesday night after having a couple of nights at Trujillo about 70k south.

Happy travels

Shawn

We are on our second night at Talavera de la Reina.

Toledo tomorrow.

Just met up with a local (uk born, lived here 30 years) and come away from her garden with fresh basil, pomegranetes from the tree and duck eggs!

And yes, she knew......thanks Christina.

Wendy, mine was a blanket over a clothes maiden turned on its side. It was a tent, a castle, an invisible cloak and many other things. :)

If a clothes maiden is a clothes horse, I did the same in the garden. Didn't have many schoolfriends in the village as I travelled a way in to school everyday, so had to entertain myself in the summer holidays.

Oh yes, you remind me, the table upside down, a pirate ship!

Ditto! And a plank across two dinng room chairs was my shop.

Here's a very short aerial view of Corfe Castle. It's a heck of a location.

Is that a car park? We stayed at Haycrafts and came in to Corfe on the steam train, lovely trip. Took quite a while to explore the ruins on a lovely sunny day, saw the ‘oubliettes’, the dungeons where prisoners were chucked and left.

Yes, it's the National Trust visitor car park, about 500 yards before Corfe Castle village. There's a nice woodland walk to the village right opposite.

Interesting exercise in perspective, placed camera on floor next to anchor chain with van in distance makes chain look enormous.

As you say Rolly, an interesting exercise. Remember when our daughter was doing a project for her college photography course and the subject was Lines. We went to Chichester Marina to take some shots and suddenly you could see lines everywhere. Fascinating! :)

Sorry, double post for some reason!

I love taking a second look at things and especially looking upwards rather than straight in front as there are so many amazing things to see that lots of people stroll on by.

One of my favourite 'Lines' photos is this one I grabbed on my phone (hence not quite in focus) of the cliff face at Duckpool, North Cornwall. I still find it fasinating that nature can produce such incredible things
