Amazing sunset last night at Hayling Island over the golf club and reflecting on the beach huts. Photos taken on my phone so you know that the reality was so much better!

Love that photo even on a phone it captures the setting sun.

Did you climb the lighthouse ?? .. We got our badges for taking the tour. It was really interesting, and not something you can do everyday.
Unfortunately not. The problem with Humberto is that he takes us to lots of places that, if we paid to see "the Tour", we'd be broke.

We've come to the conclusion that we enjoy the views of monuments but that we've done all the spiral stone staircases (Castles, Forts, Lighthouses..etc) we need for a while. We tend to find a Cafe with a view of the local monument now.

Fair comment .. Its a nice place to visit, and the view over Chesil beach from the Olympic monument is also a great place to stop and soak up.

The beach at west point on low tide is amazing .. especially on a hot evening. You can walk right out and venture through many pools and streams. Are you staying at the moment ?

It has just come off a spring tide so last night on low tide you could have walked almost out to the furthest Langstone harbour channel marker. However, the rain was so hard at times, we just sat inside for a lot of the afternoon and watched the kite and wind surfers having fun!

Later in the evening we did venture out and walked around the spit and down to the ferry and back.

We left this morning to come home having spent a couple of nights at East Wittering and then last night on Hayling.

Rob went with a mate on Friday and said it was a great atmosphere . Let us know next year and we can meet up and watch them.

Hi, its called Semer Water near Layburn, yorkshire. A bit of a single track road to get to it. Found it on search for sites.

If you ask any local for directions it's Semma watta . :D
There's a nice ale of the same name too , which we found in Hawes.
We often call to Semerwater when over at Hawes, it can be very wild and windy in the winter. But great to stay in the van and have some hot soup and crusty bread watching the "waves" on the water. There almost sea like when it's rough.
The lakes huge 100 acres .

We toured a few Welsh castles and aquaducts, including Powis Castle last month interesting history and, as you say, some wonderful views.
