What a brilliant picture of Merv! I think it's fantastic how he copes with motorhoming on his own. He looks like he's singing "the hills are alive with the sound of music. ...".
@The Old Man thank you for your photos and information. Cardiff is a city on the move ! And I love reading about it in your threads . You are lucky to have such a view .![]()
My first thought was his brakes have failed and he is on a steep downhill slope!!
Loving the big Funster sticker on the front of Merv's buggy

i am incredibly envious of anybody who has the skills and knowledge to complete aproject like that. Awesome!View attachment 123476 My brothers NorVin"on it's maiden run. He's built it from a Vincent engine that was a box of bits and a Norton Featherbed frame. He's made it electric starter, 12V, dual twin leading shoe Fontani front brake, Triumph conical hub rear, modified swinging arm to take a wider tyre. He's done all the machining, made the seat and painted it. I wish I was half the engineer he is. It's taken him 6 years to complete it.
Looks idillic @Mousy - where did you stay and can you suggest any campsites?View attachment 123218

Not sure panoramic doors it justice though!
We stayed together at 3 campsites. 1st near Le phare (lighthouse) at the far end of the island. 2nd St Martin municipal site which we found noisy and expensive although well located. 3rd was Le Bois. Les Amis de la plage.
Is that legal?!
You are never to old to learn and today I learned something about slime moulds. Here is a slime mould photographed today in a local wood. It caught my eye because it was a bright canary yellow.

Now I would have thought it was something like a funghi, a single organism, but it isn't. These slime moulds* are made up of individual amoeba like organisms which wander about at a gentle pace - (up to 1mm an hour apparently) but at times they come together and start producing fruiting bodies which are each about pinhead size. You can just about see these in the picture.
I haven't really identified this one - there are several yellow slime moulds including one with the name of "dog vomit slime mould".
*Yes, they really are called slime moulds!![]()
