Looks like something from Independence Day:eek:.......and didn't I see a post yesterday that the bookies have slashed the odds of us or America announcing that aliens have visited us from 1000/1 to 25/1:eek::eek::Eeek:

Went for a little walk in the sunshine along a coastal path at Portsoy and came across this,

Nice day today so down to Levant mine on the Cornish tin coast near Lands end. Working steam engine in a mine-shaft that runs deep beneath the sea. National Trust have a good guided tour too, one or two scary cage-walks over massive drops not for the feint hearted! Lots of foreign plates

We enjoyed our time there and also the Geevor Mine about two years ago. Thanks for the reminder of our time there

A couple more just relating to the mine to jog back memories of your visit, and for anybody else contemplating a visit. As usual in the West Country the approach lane is not the widest

With that car she could be the next Bond girl!
The car cost just over £195,000. The hire company (in London) buy loads of super cars and hire them out. My Son-in-Law paid £1500 to hire this for 2 days. (Just to take his daughter to the Prom in it ! respect!! She is a great daughter too).
I went with him to pick it up and on the way back he put it in to sport mode and put his foot down. Scary is not the word, It's just too much car, 5 Lt engine and the acceleration is mind blowing. The car has a tracker which is monitored for all journeys and the hire company rang him later to thank him for driving responsibly. (I guess they accept at some stage everybody wants to see what happens when you floor it and in our case this was done just once.)
Anyway, my Son-in-Law and I calculated they make on average £300,000 per year on each car and then the car is sold at not to much of a loss on original price as each person who hires it is restricted on mileage. Someone has got his head well and truly screwed on and is making a fortune, these cars are constantly on hire.
Personally, I thought the inside of the car was a little ugly.

Today's outing was to Antony House, early 18th Century, on the Cornwall side of the Tamar from Plymouth. I'm getting my money's worth from my NT and EH cards! Well worth a visit and good access road for all size motorhomes to see house (watch out for low tree branches).

Impressive formal gardens and woodland garden beside the Tamar,

and arboretum.

Put wings on it and it would probably take off.

Looks like a Lamborghini, very nice but a tad frustrating if your driving is being monitored. Bet his daughter felt like a million dollars. (y)
Edit....just seen the previous pictures I see it was indeed a Lamborghini, nice car.

Some indoor photos of Antony House. Built early 1700's and still lived in by descendants of the same family to this day. Tell you what though the floorboards creak like mad - you certainly couldn't sneak out quietly!

View from the aire at Villerest this morning, they kindly laid on a fireworks display on the lake for our enjoyment earlier in the week.
