2018 anniversary trip 200 / 100 max miles per day for 22 days

Happy Anniversary.
Tourist coaches drive both sides of the Gorge, we found the road good.
Have a great day.

I really did try to tell Bev, but she isn't having any of it, I am grateful for where we got to yesterday Griffon Vultures and crested tits and pretty awesome overnight stop, will come with A + R then I will go with them in their hire at to the 'real' gorge leaving Bev very happily with the MH and book and her knitting (y)

Don't think I would want to risk a road with those sort of overhangs.
The answer I think, is to wait until something bigger than you, a coach or large truck, comes along then tag on behind.
I rather think the co-pilot would have something to say about roads like that so I doubt we will be going that way anytime soon.

Richard.
PS. Happy Anniversary to you both.

Good morning David and Bev. For some reason I missed this thread yesterday so belated Happy Anniversary from me.

Love the scenery and your parking spot.

Morning Phil, we have E + P jacks (y)

Yesterday became a rush to the coast mixed in with some hefty work issues the day conspired against us

Fuel light came on and at second auto fuel outlet which are now becoming the norm in rural areas and a lot of supermarket fuel outlets we failed twice with two cards :( thought it was the debit card at first which isn’t always liked but had worked at aires, tried credit card still declined

So put in my 10 litres from can which I now would not be without then continued to Antibes now too late due to work to go to Eze :(

The only real route down from where we were takes you through Grasse, well hopefully going back I can find a way round it, very busy, narrow and extremely twisty roads not for the faint hearted and signs that only seem to be on half the junctions o_O

But we made it down to Vielle Ferme camp site at Villeneuve Louvre not Antibes as we thought which didn’t help TT get us to here, although TT did her best to get down impossible options o_O

This site being one of very few open can name its own price and seems to, add ons for everything got us to 32 euros for last night and that asked for double for tonight when A and R join us in our MH on same pitch but with a hire car, I did manage to negotiate that down to 10 Euro extra, but declined Wi-fi at 8 euro per connection per day, but did chose 10A electrics over 6A for 8 Euro instead of 6 per day, they actually bring out and fit a different breaker in the locked post

So this home for 2 nights we can do some washing and have proper shower at least, but it is really busy here and not our kind of place, but it is very quiet(y)

I thought I remembered walking down to beach and train options from this site 20 years ago even last here, either memory has gone or progress has happened, there is a very busy road with no access from here to beach or train

Think we will head back to the hills tomorrow, weather looks lovely tomorrow though so will redo gorge with visitors and their car:)(y)

We have just seen another new bird for us a Sardinian Warbler (y)

Morning David, sorry you didn't reach your perfect meal destination, perhaps we can remedy that when we meet on the other side ( of France not when we've croaked it :ROFLMAO:).....

David whatever you do don't leave your bike at the train station as this is where our bikes where stolen from, if you happen to see two Raleigh bikes going round can you grab them for me :)

we don't have bikes with us this trip, but already think we will head back into the hills, so much nicer in so many ways, mainly cheaper :)(y)

when you went to Castelanne did you then carry on north through Digne etc ? Love that scenery round there even if a little cold and snowy :)

Yes we headed north but turned left towards the N51 instead of right towards Digne, we then headed over to Annecy.
