We will be following in your tracks Graham as soon as Mustafa completes the work on our van. He is installing some additional 220v sockets in the kitchen and fabricating some dolly wheels to go on the back of the chassis so we don't keep grinding away the metal when we ground the tail end getting on and off ferries.
Won't be on the road until Thursday.

Mike You are supposed to be ill and in bed....If Gwen catches you on the internet when you supposed to be sleeping you might be in trouble.. LOL
Good day in the markets today special thanks to Mike and Gwen for showing us around..Colin

Pack up in morning and away we go
Elaine and I would like to thank all the funsters here at tangazout for the fantastic time we have had here
And I am sure our paths will will be crossing over next few weeks

I think we could have made this trip with out being fun members but it has made it so much better than we ever expected being part of this mad house we call fun
Thanks to all the people that have helped us so far it is the best ten pounds I have ever spent in my life

If any one at home is sitting on the fence thinking about doing morroco
Do it the whole experience is fantastic dont listen to the put down merchant's 2 or 3 days of it seeming strange then its just another day

If elaine and I can do anyone can

Now of to pack up ready for tomorrow's adventure

Keep that Yorkshire flag flying you guys, safe travels, enjoy.
Carol

Thanks for info Graham, we were thinking of going for Sidi- Ouassai (is that same as Wassey?) just below Sous Massa National Park;supposedly good walking but no elephants.

Would like to know if anyone has the date for the Almond Tree Festival in Tafraoute? Think usually around Kiwi Coss's birthday, the 2nd week of Feb. Leaving tues or wed.

Someone told us the goats are tied up the trees for tourists.

Bang on Brian. They have phenomenal glue in Morocco. :Rofl1::Rofl1::Rofl1:. Isn't it amazing how they make sure the goats remain upright instead of hanging upside-down?

Sidi Ifni

Part 3 Morocco 2014 – Sidi Ifni

Sidi Ifni is a city located in southwest Morocco, on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. It has a population of 20,000 people. The economic base of the city is fishing.

Got a result

Happy Chappy, that's me. I have had a good day all round.

Kicked off early to meet the bread delivery man and secure 10 French sticks for the buttie munchers. This guy comes every day to deliver bread. He arrives at 0715 on a tiny moped - the pedal assist type not a twist and go 125. How the hell he keeps upright with all the sacks of bread fastened to the bike and him I will never know. Strong gusty wind does not deter :Eeek: him and he parks beside the German's van just behind mine. It's on a bit of concrete so the loaded bike doesn't fall over in the sand. He sells both the French stick style and the local small round flat bread popular in Morocco and charges 2 Drms (14p) per piece. I could get it for 1 Drm in the village itself but for an extra 7p I am happy to buy it from him. :thumb:

We were set up by 0930 with three burners topped by skillets on the scooter platform at the back of the van. I was caught a bit wrong footed when to my surprise people actually arrived at 1000 and I had not started cooking. We got up to speed fairly quickly and although some had to wait a while, all who turned up were eventually provided with a bacon buttie in the warm morning sun.

Most went off to Agadir for the day at about 1200 but a number of us had work to do. Daz successfully cleaned his fridge flue, :thumb: Peter installed his inverter inboard :thumb: and I set off to refit cabling to the interior light in the cab area. I had previously disconnected it when making an abortive attempt to get a power supply to my new reversing camera. The camera was bought at the Belvoir Castle show we attended a short while after buying the van but installation was never successfully completed. Over that time I had knackered two units when I connected the positive lead of the unit to the brown wire of the lighting circuit and the negative lead to the blue wire of t.he lighting circuit. At that stage I sussed that the wire colouring of the van was not the same as in a house. Today I reversed the wiring and at my third attempt in over two years. I now have a monitor showing me the road behind - like a rear view mirror and another showing the scooter rack - for reversing. It is upside down but what the hell.
Having had the bacon this morning we had beans with eggs on toast for tea. This evening went over to sit outside and chew the fat with other funsters. An enjoyable day all round. :thumb:

Anyone heading for Sidi Ifni, several pitches free at El Barco..
We are all parked in straight lines facing the sea as directed when we arrived, yesterday the men came around and started marking out pitches with white powder at an angle, this means vans like ours now straddle a white line... Some have painted under vans and carpets etc..

Some swiss campers came past and started "tutting" and pointing at the lines as if we had done it deliberatly...

Hi Steve
I meant Zagora, was reading old mo birthday thread for Zahora and my brain transposed the h for g.

I know we would have had a fantastic time there with out vehicle, our friends spent a week at safi with our other truck friends who are running a riad there. They were twisting our arm to fly out there with them, they had a week of rain, so glad we didnt.

Its great that everyone is having a good time, not envious really, not, not , not.

As the numbers are changing at Tagazhout Beach, I thought I would try and describe it here.

I don't know how it works but it just does, as you go to bed at night you hang a carrier bag out side the van with 2 dirums (15p) in then when you get up there is a nice fresh baguette waiting for you. You wake up to sunshine and the shepherds going around the campers for there old peelings fruit/veg for the goats, I have 3 delightfull young children come each day with there mother for their breakfast banana from me, there smiles are beautiful .

Then the huge old water tank troundles around with fresh spring water to fill up your water tank if you need it 20 drums (£1.50p). The recycling men constantly go around the bins so there is never any rubbish anywhere on site, they have a toilet emptying site well away from the vans.

The enterprise of the local people at keeping the site running so helping the local community never ceases to amaze me. The van comes around selling the freshest oranges ever for 20 dirums a kilo, then the baker selling his cakes.
The local artist who skillfully puts beautiful paintings on the vans of those who want them.

Walk 30 seconds one way and you are on a sandy beach, with camels / horses and surfers a ten minute walk along it and you are in the local village where the fishermen sell there catches on the beach, the local hotel is spotlessly clean serving good coffee and good toilets . The Pizza restaurant is run by a French couple and there Pizzas are very good at 40 dirums enough for two.

There is a regular bus into Agadir at 7 drums each way. I don't think there is anything you can't get done, Solar Panels fitted / Mechanical things and all done so cheaply but to a really good standard .

The TagazhoutBeach experience has far exceeded my expectations, and with the great camaraderie of the funsters, the evening get together and day time laughs
If you ever get the chance it's one I would take.

Forgot to put nearly everyone bought tagines for 40 dirums and the smells coming from the various funster vans is great, all this for £1. 20p a night.

Hi Carol, I just checked your photos on facebook. Tell Rachid he is living to high on the hog and he needs to cut down on the sweets.

Departing Tagazhoute tomorrow morning. Off to see the legendary Mustapha to sort one or two minor problems out we've been experiencing with our control panel - all being well.

The legendary Pinkie, Poppy and Charlie Brown left late this afternoon en route back up to Essouria. Jess our terrier got on famously with Charlie Brown, Pinkie & Poppies labradoodle.

Jess has had a long face since they departed - no more tug of war with Charlie

New day - new adventure :thumb:

Hi Dave, he is quite some artist think he has more work tomorrow on another funster van. Don't know why but a few of us seem to be having trouble loading photos to fun, yet they go easily on to FB , could be that we are using smart phones for cameras instead of proper cameras.

We are off to Trafout for the Almond Blossom festival in mid February, any advice.

Safely Back in Essaouira!

Hi Guys,

Got back to Essaouira just before 10pm, bit slow in the dark with my defensive driving, but I am careful, and we stopped en-route to stock up on sprite. Also managed to secure a metal tagine for 30dh, didn't bother haggling with that.

Thanks to everyone at Taghazoute for making it so enjoyable and particular thanks to Dai, for putting up with me being "a pain in the ass" and charging my laptop every day for me, along with lending me any tool I needed, fixing my bed, laying under my bed (because frankly I can never get a man to get in it! :Rofl1:) Can't say he offered to empty my toilet cassette for me, but another brave funster did it for me (just to piss off the german who stupidly camped at the top of the walkway down to the emptying hole, then shouted at everyone going past!) He was also extremely kind, so thank you to him too!

It was lovely to meet you all and I wish you all happy and safe travels. Wish we had gone further south but time didn't permit it, so next time definitely!

Oh and another thing - I love Morocco! Want longer here next time. :thumb:
