1999 Neissman Bischoff Flair Life - any good?

Our Clou is 20 this year. We re just back from a 3 month 5000 miles trip France Spain and Morocco, she didnt miss a beat :giggle: :giggle:
Similarly, our 3.0L, 6 x speed manual Flair is 17 x years old this year, and just back from an almost exact mileage touring Spain and Portugal, again, not missing a beat. (y)

We thought our old Hymer was class and quality, but these Niesmanns take that even further in both quality and strength. ;)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Thanks guys, that’s very re assuring to know,
What sort of mileage to the gallon should I expect ,I hope over 25 mpg. Or around 12 litres to the 100 km as a guess,

You’ll get more than I do due to the weight difference we are 5 ton but front profile is still very upright in the wind we get 20 mpg which I think is ok hope this helps.

Thanks for that,
Will hopefully get away shortly here soon to give it a good test,
Not too worried as won’t be doing big mileage so it’s really irrelevant,

Our old Hymer 5500Kgs on a Fiat Ducato 2.8TDi regularly did 25Mpg in touring mode across Europe.
The remapped Iveco 3.0L Flair running at around 5900Kgs, (plated at 6850Kgs), rarely does 20Mpg..........
even if driving sedately. :(
She's a heavy old beast, and is about as aerodymamic as a brick wall. ;)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

I mentioned in an earlier post that my wife and I gave our 'old girl' a bit of a makeover inside and out and I thought I'd share a few of the pics to show what she looks like now. Say hello to Boho Betsy...

Class job in fairness,
By the way tested my flair for mpg ,
No load up got 30 mpg ,
mainly flat driving around at home,
But thrilled with that ,
Getting air con fixed now ,
So nearly all jobs done,
New Lino for floor and that’s about it I hope !!

Went for CRT or nct as it’s calledin van ,before I take it abroad in sept for first time,
Not a great result, they blew a hole in brake pipe testing the brakes,
Common enough problem he tells me,
Also told me 2 back tyres not suitable for 3850 kg van so that a fail as well ,
They passed last year!
Bushings on back ,
And more rusty pipes and rear brake cyclinder housing ,
So lucky I brought test forward or I would be in trouble,
Need to source those metal brake pipes now,
Never a dull moment with these old campers!

Good advise ,
Got a guy to do it ,he has lots of the pipes and does it regularly,
Hate to think if it had happened in Spain what I would have done,
