“Cheap weekend away”

If that price includes entry then that's £18/£14.50 (depending on age concession) per person saved straightaway. Maybe not quite so expensive then? "Out of hours" is after 18:30 in the busy season so still a lot of daylight left for munging around without the crowds. Overall, looks reasonable to me all things considered.
I agree, it seems to include entry into the village so all things considered it's not that bad value really. The only downside for me now is there's no dogs allowed 😕

What WE need on MHF is for people who are members of MHF to go out there, find a site, (that's easy, Both 'Clubs' go to places where they've done the hard work for you) and negotiate for Funsters to attend a Rally.

Then turn up, either collect the money in advance or wait until they turn up and give it to the owner of the field or whatever.

Some of us who already do it are not getting younger and we can't organise it for you when we've gone.

PS. No experience necessary. I'll hold your hand.
I approached one last week and they wanted £23 Per night each van for the rally field. I nearly replied with a bunch of laugh emoticons 😂😂😂😂 Instead I replied I’d decline, far too expensive.

Blue Anchor Hobourne, Somerset, Indoor Swimming pool, Sauna, Bar £134 for a 10 nt. rally booked last min.

Time to get out there regardless of the fickle UK weather. Went on CAMC to book 2 nights at Cromer, £100.20 !!!!. One hundred pounds for two nights. Ridiculous. How on earth is the average person supposed to be funding this. Me and mrs B often would spend up to that amount at the location/ town on food , booze etc. I know costs for energy etc have gone up but……
Anyway. Now booked two nights at the lovely Woodhill park East Runton for £55.
Goodbye CAMC sites, up your Khyber.
Likewise, we are headed to Woodhill in May for our first visit. No longer prepared to pay for Seacroft or any other CAMC site

Re: Portmeirion aire: Following on from this thread we stayed there on Thursday night:
£55 ( for <5.5m) , including £29's worth of entrance = £26. (or for under 60s save £36 = £19 site fee etc). As stated, longer vans pays more.
For a spotless prime location with free 16A and A1 shower block... Looking at the local campsites on that coast, IMO that's a total bargain.

The emplacements are separated by hedging - still in progress, and are fully slate hardstanding, though some folks had succeeded in pegging awnings or windbreaks. The biggest (extra cost) will accommodate a Winnebago with awning and toad, no problem.

€150 for 7 nights with big electric on a loverly site in the Picos Mountains...................mind you it will cost nearly £1,000 to get there and back.
Have to say the per night cost isn't just the pitch fee its the cost of the MoHo, the fuel the depreciation etc once you go down that road the per night costs are a heck of a lot more than £50 your trip is £1150/7 £167 per night plus MoHo costs........personally I cant look at that way Just want to be where we want to be and enjoy our trips away

Actually it will work out a lot more than that but who's bothered. As you say it's where one wants to be and the method of getting and staying whilst there is the holiday.
My trip, leaving on Saturday is alone and purely to do some bike riding (with engine) whilst there.
Staying on a site in Potes.

We're debating whether to renew our membership for the same reason.
Just booked seacroft in Chromer for 2 nights in early Sep, c£85! However, booked 2 nights straight after for Clippsby Hall in Norfolk, fully serviced, site seems all signing, all dancing, for £64 fully serviced pitch

Only benefits we've had so far, as only stayed at Mr Moo's via CAMC are the odd offers you get in the magazine which sometimes turn out to be a generic offering to anyone anyway
