“Cheap weekend away”

I hope you have a good time (y).
Have you been before?

We are off to Woolacombe Sands in Noth Devon at the end of April for a week. Sea view hard standing Super Pitch with Water and Incuded Electric at less than £21 per night (excluding the doggy pack) . Site has shop, dog friendly club that does food, drink and nightly entertainment Plus indoor and outdoor pool. 15 min walk into Woolacombe. Been there before and had a great week. The 20% discount was sent via email as we are returning visitors but even without that it’s a bargain price.

No, but we’ve been to a few of the more expensive sites, Old Oaks in Glastonbury and Concierge Camping in Chichester. Both still working so we don’t mind paying extra for a few of the nicer things and also if they are adult only, all the better!

Come to Scotland, you are most welcome in the borders town of Hawick and its FREE! water and elsan point included and just a few minutes walk into town. (y)
It’s a lovely spot to stay . Hawick is very welcoming , beautiful park next to the motorhome parking and it’s a good walking area.

Toad on tour - Its nice you'll like it . South side is nicer in my personal opinion, better facilities but a little more exposed if its windy.
Bar is good and reasonably priced for food. Hope you have a good time .
Walk into Melton is about 45 mins .

We’ll also be towing our little car, as my wife struggles with her ankle after 15 minutes or so minutes walking, so will pop in to Melton, Oakham etc. in the car for a mooch around.

Camping and Caravan club site at Mablethorpe, Good Friday, Saturday, Easter Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday, departing Tuesday by 12.00, 2 adults, 2 children, Motorhome and Screen House Pro 4, Hardstanding with Electric,
£180 all in, so basically £45 per night and its school holls and Easter!
Premier Inn at Cleethorpes or Skegness, by comparison, Saturday Night to Sunday Morning, same Easter Weekend, 2 adults only and no food…….£105 per night!
Think I have a bargain! 😊👍
We are staying 5 nights from Wednesday at the CCC Derwentwater site at Keswick - hardstanding with electric for £41 per night including the ACR reduction. Prime location on a major bank holiday so overall happy with that.

Have booked Camping and Caravan club site at Scarborough to take a couple of grandkids, it up a bit from last year, but nothing like what it would have been to take the other grandkids to Ferry Meadows.
Now looking for a decent independent site with an area to play football and lots to do round about, one is into wake boarding, has all his own gear, one football and the other rockpooling, am getting stressed trying to find somewhere to suit all one lot live in Lancashire, the other near Watford, there isn' t any sea in the middle 😉

We are off to Oulton park race track on Friday.
Three nights camping all facilities ( no hook up)
British Gt championship racing with full support program ( no racing sunday) on Saturday and bank holiday monday.
Entertainment for kids easter egg hunt etc
£135 with a program cheap weekend imo.

Just had a look at where Jim’s place is, not too far from Hull, so from Zeebrugge we could avoid expensive England almost all together!! Promising but no concrete plans yet Unfortunately.

What’s ACR reduction please?

Brecon Wild Camping.

What it says legal Wild Camping.

£7.50 pp.

Low on facilities, fresh water tap, portaloos.

High on views.

Is there a size limit?

Is there a size limit?

Vehicle size? I think not but is is all grass, but mostly firm ground.

Party size, possibly? The very nature of what they offer could lead to 'rave' style occupation.

Maybe we need more rallies in different parts of the country

What WE need on MHF is for people who are members of MHF to go out there, find a site, (that's easy, Both 'Clubs' go to places where they've done the hard work for you) and negotiate for Funsters to attend a Rally.

Then turn up, either collect the money in advance or wait until they turn up and give it to the owner of the field or whatever.

Some of us who already do it are not getting younger and we can't organise it for you when we've gone.

PS. No experience necessary. I'll hold your hand.
