- enough to know i shouldnt touch things i know nothing about ....
dont put all your eggs in one basket .... no reason why you should depend on just one source of tv signal ...

As in the OP... Cost?
Others could be that you don't watch much TV when travelling, weight, simplicity, lack of requirement for holes in van, I'm sure there are many more...
