Your top two weekend in the motorhome destinations

Is there any point? Some of us live far enough away from you that our weekend spots would be too far for a weekend for you.

How do you know where "us" lives, when I say help us I mean Funsters, So take the lemon out of your mouth, smile, and tell us where you like to go for the weekend in your van '\

Jim you killed it already with the “in the UK” bit:LOL:

Otherwise:

No1 for us is Annecy (1.5hrs away)
No2 for us is Lake Maggiore (2.5hrs away)

Both are our regular weekend’ers

i know, i know….

We like the lakes or Wales. Luckily we can go mid week which helps to avoid the crowds (although it doesn't seem to get crowded in Wales except snowden)
But also love city's so burrs camc for manchester.

Next year that will be;

"...Rather than Snowdon and Snowdonia, the mountain and mountain range will now be referred to as Yr Wyddfa and Eryri..."

North Devon, Little Shelfin Farm, closed in the Winter.

So in the Winter months;

Brecon Beacons, Freedom Camping in a couple of quiet spots.

Or Brecon Wild Camping;

Wildbill

Mostly agree but from time to time I find a need to plan.

We would probably chose a destination:
a) within four hours
b) appropriate for the season
c) we haven’t been there before or have and really enjoyed it
So
Devizes
Stratford
Broadway
Sandringham for the winter lights (just done this)
Bath
Brighton
Too far for us but I really really want to go to Blackpool for the lights
Same for Whitby, but then the question is broadened to
“where would you go for a weekend event”
as I really really want to go to the Goth Weekend.

Fforest fields mid Wales
Freshwater East

both around 2 hours and have great walks.

But there are so many others.

Usually won't get the motorhome out for less than a week away, however I would probably go to Woodhall Spa which is about an hour away.
Stayed at the CCC site a few times and recently stayed on the Woodhall Country Park site alongside the family in their caravan.
The town itself is a pleasant place to stay for a weekend.

Of the ones found so far, when the family are in tow, Minehead and Bradford-on-Avon (2h & 1.25h from our home in Hartpury, Gloucestershire respectively).

Reading some of the other favs shows that we are blessed with some fantastic places to visit in the UK, and shows me that I need to spread my motorhome net a bit further.

I note VXman lives in MK but pelican is in southampton, so gotta ask, is there somewhere in MK Im unaware of for a weekend from a motorhome point of view??
Not from what I've seen of MK, but I'm happy to be corrected

The beach at Skinningrove and saunton sand beach

Deepdale North Norfolk or North Yorkshire Coast and moors. Two or three hours drive depending on diversions en route.

We’re at Burrs just now for 2 nights, we’ve been pleasantly surprised by Bury today, had a walk round the market and a lovely meal at the ivy. Off into Manchester tomorrow for Xmas markets, we’ll certainly come again.

Bury St Edmunds Suffolk. Ram meadow car park motorhome stopovers. 24 hrs for 3/4 quid in the middle of a beautiful town. Always in the top 10 nicest places to live in the U.K.

Believe it or not, Louth still tops my list. Lovely Market town, great park (Hubbards hills), fantastic steak house. Old school pubs like the Wheatsheaf. The town centre hasn't been taken over by the big brands.
After that I would be torn between a few places in North Wales (Cricieth is my usual base of operations) or Durham.

….my home town, Gromett

1. Lyndon Top.
Cycling, pubs, nature reserve, Osprey, off grid, lots of space, great views. Oakham has good selection of pubs and restaurants. I did a short piece in Local Guide forum I think.

2. Find an interesting thing and then find the nearest site, Cl, CS.
Breweries, restaurants, NT...

If it were not so expensive to get the Moho there and back, a long weekend in Brugge would be hard to beat.

Help us start planning our weekends away next year.

Where are your top two favourite weekend destinations in the UK?
Another vote for Shrewsbury. We stop on Coton Farm CL £10. Something for everyone in Shrewsbury.
