Your Motorhome. How Big is Too big?

I think the size of the toilet cassette was changed a few years ago to comply with the EU manual handling regulations. I think its 20kg?
They still fit the large bench toilets in some vans.BUSBY.

8.1m as standard, so I decided to put a motorbike rack on it to make it even longer!! But on a serious note, it's not bad to drive, you just have to have your wits about you when reversing and manoeuvring close to other vehicles. The inside space is awesome though.

We carry all that and more. With a fixed transverse bed we have masses of rear and inside access storage, tables x 2, chairs 2. leg rests 1 windbreak, comprehensive tool box, silver screens, outdoor cooker, Morrocan mat, Flag pole, and an extra 24can beer fridge, water container and all the other bits you need, Still with plenty of room for wetsuits and bodyboards etc.
Thats quite good ..to be honest i forgot about the fixed rear bed models but where is your water tanks and electrics etc? Every pvc i looked at also didn't have ws many or as large overhead lockers too.

100L water tank is tall and narrow, on the right side of garage. Victron Inverter charger, B2B and 2 x Lithium under one seat.

This is our van

RWD merc means good turning circle.
Air suspension means good clearance.
Decided against the 8400 for a number of reasons but don't really miss the space and being under 8m has advantages.
Width can be an issue (e.g. driving next to Loch Lomand).
Wouldn't want it bigger to drive, wouldn't want it smaller to live in.
We use it all year round, so some days you can be confined to barracks (e.g. by blizzard) and need a bit of wriggle room.
Where I live there are single track lanes with overgrown hedges, so the hardest part of any journey is usually the 3 miles to the motorway.
I've had fitted 360' Omnicam which has meant I'm much less anxious of tight spaces.
