good :thumb:

Only had the Rochefort 6, and I had to go to Belgium for that.

There's a direct importer here in Toronto who sends emails when he gets shipments of Rochefort 8 & 10, Chimay Bleu & Reserve,Liefmans Goudenband etc. I buy them by the case (as do others) - the quantities aren't great enough generally to make it into the liquor stores. I pay close to triple the price I would pay in Belgium, though!

We pay at least twice the price in England as in Belgium but tax is blamed for that.

Lizard Brewery Cornwall

Just been down to Cornwall for a few days and sampled a random 4 bottles from the Lizard Brewery. They are apparently based in an ex-cold-war bunker!

Each was distinctive in it's own way and all quite excellent. Beer is finished in the bottle so pour carefully if you insist on clear ale.

Brilliant stuff - look out for it.

My local has the Black Sheep, Which if you know the story, has absolutely now`t to do with shepherds!!, and which hits the spot nicely. and Friday, Being Fish day, Means Fresh fish special lunch at the Dog n Duck in Beverley and a couple of pints of Copper Dragon. followed by a pint of SAM Smiths in "Nellies" ,whilst waiting for the bus. sounds good to me and I know Beverly fairly well.

Nothing this week (yet) but a nice pint of Malvern Hills Brewery Black Pear last Tuesday. As you probably know, it's a very pale beer with a crisp, fresh taste, very drinkable any time of year but I imagine just the ticket on a summer's evening.

my favourite beer this week would be grafenwalder from the local lidl store at 24 cents a can (expensive)

Had lunch in Harrods with the Memsahib they now have a pilsner type beer labelled 1849,brewed in europe for Harrods about £4 500ml. Quite acceptable.

My favourite tipple is Doombar but I am a little partial to some of the Skinner's beers such as Cornish Knocker and I had a new one recently by Skinners called Keel over. Good stuff all of it!!!:Rofl1:

you'll be hard pressed to beat marstons pedigree :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Still John Smiths , :drink: Till I can find somewhere local which sells Cafferys :drink:

Thats suprises me, it has appeared in a couple of local pubs but doesn,t seem to last long. The locals seem to prefer Sam/John Smiths and Tetleys ales. But it could be something to do with cost being in Yorkshire

Crazy Daze, from the Pot Belly Brewery, Northants.

Lovely stuff. :thumb:

Cheers, :drink:

Jock.

That sounds good I will have to lookout for it. :thumb:
I consider it to be "nectar" Ralph. It's one of the best pints around these parts.

I am on an all time favourite at the moment, ie, Plooky Bird, (Speckled Hen). :Rofl1:

Cheers,

Jock.

Beer

Hi Ralph.
I too like to try new beers, and get a quarterly selection from the Beer Club of Britain . The new one tried this weekend was Dark O- with minimalist labelling (black with an 0) ABV 4.1%, which was a bit too stout loke for my liking.
Regards Roger
