3 weeks ago my starter battery failed.
It was 13 months old and had a 3 year warranty.
I had to buy a new one.
I contacted the motor factors it came from to see about claiming under the warranty.
They wanted me to take the battery back to them but they are 480 miles away.
I offered to take the battery to a local Yuasa supplier or Yuasa themselves, 25 miles away.
Both these suggestions were refused.
The factors then asked me to send them a copy of the report and proof of purchase which I did.
I have chased up the motor factors today and been told that I must return the battery to their suppliers as that is who my warranty is with.
Their suppliers are over 400 miles away from me.
Where do I stand as I would have thought my contract is with the factors who sold me the battery.
Neither the factors or their suppliers are willing to pay for me to post it to them.

Our van has been SORNed all winter and hadn't been started in some time. A month ago I went to start the engine and the battery was flat which confused me as we had a Battery Master fitted 2 years ago after having had a flat battery twice during lock down, so maybe the damage was done then.
I had a look online to see what batteries were available. Some had 3,4 and even 5 year guarantee. When I read the T&Cs of the guarantee, I would need to prove the vehicle had done x amount of miles every month. They can't prove I didn't but it's down to me to prove I did

The MOT (if applicable) mileages or garage service receipts might provide some evidence.

Can I ask where it needs to be delivered.?

Sorry if this has been covered already.
When we were in a similar situation trading stands told us to write to the supplier and give them a two week deadline and say we'd be going to the small claims court if they didn't pay up. You can do this online so we filled some forms in and sent a copy to the supplier to prove we meant it. The money turned up three days later.
