Who has priority?

Gosh all these scenarios the simple (and correct) answer is in the UK give way to traffic on your right so once the L plated car has cleared the junction the car at the top of the screen turning right has priority.....easy no contest Highway coded ! And I might add won many times in a court of law !

I've added an arrow to the pic to show where they are both going. When the red car gets there, the blue car won't even be half way there, so IMHO, the red car should go first :)

In fact, is they both set off at the same time, they'd avoid a collision ;)

Whilst you are correct that the general rule is to give way to the right, that is not the case at crossroads, please look at my previous post with links to the learner driving centre which has diagrams that show who has priority, green arrows = priority, red arrows = give way.

Are you thinking of a roundabout, not a crossroads?

I can't find anything in the Highway Code to clarify it.
Give way to the right as per a roundabout is the sensible way and similar to highway code
Just spotted Eggs post sorry for repeat

Nope give way to traffic on your right so if turning right from a x roads you have priority! Same as priority a droit but in reverse!

Slightest hesitation in the other car and I'm away, legal or not.
As for incorrect position..... Nobody bothers with that unless there's two lanes or more. Simply pull up at the lines, anyone behind you isn't going until you go anyway.

Can you find this in the Highway Code specifically stating crossroads? A lady who is a driving and towing instructor stores her Caravan and trailer in the storage area of a friends CS, she says (blue car taken out of the equation) she teaches her learners red goes first... with caution. Is she as a driving instucter wrong?

Give way marking

7. The requirements conveyed to vehicular traffic on roads by a road marking provided for at item 3 of the sign table in Part 6 of this Schedule are—

(a)except as provided in paragraphs (b) to (d), that no vehicle may proceed past the transverse line which is the nearer to the major road into that road in a manner or at a time likely to endanger the driver of, or any passenger in, a vehicle on the major road or to cause the driver of such a vehicle to change its speed or course in order to avoid an accident;

As I mentioned earlier, the 'give way' applies to the major road, not to the opposing junction (as above) hence whoever moves off first becomes the vehicle on the major road and thus the dominant party in the give way scenario. There is no such thing as implied priority, where a priority exists it is explicitly signed, as an example:
