Which side should exhaust be (1 Viewer)

My hymer exits pavement side next to the filler, no issues yet but if the twin egr’s pack up it could be a problem for pedestrians and cyclists and my wallet

If I remember right....if it exits pavement side then there is a maximum height from the floor it can be
Cant remember exact height as it's been a while since I delved into c&u regs that far

Hymer do a 'cheap' LHD-RHD conversion. My exhaust exits to LH side with the hab door on RH

I would have thought exhausts are designed to be a certain length, diameter and configuration specific to the vehicles design, so the 'exit' point is determined by that design....... But maybe not?

My mate's new VW T6 runs down the centre of the van & exits downwards ,& centrally,in front of the rear axle.

Our MH exits at the rear of the tractor head unit, downwards on the Offside in UK terms. See below image.

Our daily, a Mercedes Benz GLE exits just behind the Nearside rear wheel, downwards in UK terms.

The above 2 are both diseasel.

Our toy, a petrol BMW Z3 2.8 exits out of the rear on the nearside in UK terms.

UK plates, RHD with hab door to left but still a pavement puffer

Probably European spec.

Just like genuine UK VW California vans have their awning and slider on the roadside.

My genuine German built LHD 1989 VW Westfalia California has it's exhaust coming out the rear!

PS It passed it's MOT without any advisories again today!

My rhd Rapido has exhaust on lhs next to the diesel filler. So unlikely to be compliant with any rules.

Opposite side to hab door so makes sense to me..

Out of sight and downwards facing just inside the chassis member between the drivers seat and the hab door on my RHD Carthago. Don't think it's quiet enough to put a green strip on the numberplate and pretend it's environmentally friendly though.

I didn't realise it was a big long pipe to it, the silencer is in a different place on the 2.2 compared to the older 2.3.
