Yea mate has a newish Volvo lorry and had to wait near on 5 months for parts, only £800 a week to hire a lorry to cover his work he also had the same issues with a Merc lorry so I would not say there are any good vehicles now just lucky people if they get something that they don’t have much trouble with….If only Volvo made a van chassis?
I know of many V70s to do over 400,000 miles, mines only on 150,000 and just run in…Yea mate has a newish Volvo lorry and had to wait near on 5 months for parts, only £800 a week to hire a lorry to cover his work he also had the same issues with a Merc lorry so I would not say there are any good vehicles now just lucky people if they get something that they don’t have much trouble with….

Just taken delivery of our 4 Motorhome on a Ducato don't have any problems with them. The new 2.2 engine is much smother & quieter than the 2.3 and the 9 speed box is a dream, it's so smooth.
Me toFinally i must of missed that one but happy to hear she finally arrived.

Reminds one of the old Merc 190 Taxis!I know of many V70s to do over 400,000 miles, mines only on 150,000 and just run in…
ExactlyMerc, because it's a Merc.
Totally agree my 2011 master is a great drive and just keeps eating up the miles. And no cam belt to worry about eitherWell, it goes against everything I have ever said about French vehicles but our van is a nissan nv400, so it's really a renault master, it's a 2015, and we have put some serious miles on it in the last 20 months, I think 14k so far, it's on 128k now and we just got back from Scotland and over 1k miles for our trip.
The thing is an absolute machine, it just takes diesel and goes.
Yes the engine and gearbox are greatly improved, as is the new dash board. I even know what speed I am doing. Big for the Series 9. I hope they don’t spoil it with the Series 10.Just taken delivery of our 4 Motorhome on a Ducato don't have any problems with them. When I was stationed in Germany, I spoke with many taxi drivers over the Merc. They run them down the production line in the beige colour and when delivered, the owners have already paid for a replacement ECU. When I enquired about it, the drivers told me that this is all that’s expected to need replacing at 800k miles!!!Reminds one of the old Merc 190 Taxis!
Interesting question, I was instant I was going for a Mercedes, however we actually have a Fiat and quite like it. So maybe it's not so much about the vehicle as they all tend to be robust these days its more about the MoHo layout you choose. The side benefit is running costs (servicing) is less and saved about £10K at the time going Fiat rather than insisting on Mercedes but as they say it's your money and your choice.Hypothetical question but if you could have the vehicle (say any made since 2018) of your choice on your current or future MH which brand would it be...and why?
I can go along with the above, albeit with our 6 x speed manual Iveco. We love our Peugeot chassis as it's got a great 6 gear manual gearbox. Wouldn't have an automatic for nothing.
Probably because I'm a retired lorry driver and have always felt a manual 'box keeps you focused over a long shift
That's a dream machine and a half Jon. I absolutely love it, though totally impractical for our style of MH'ing here in the UK. Fine if attending car or horse racing meets, with the
