Hymer Exsis-t
For a long time I’ve been considering installing refillable LPG. The problem I have is where to put the filler point.

The gas locker is surrounded by other compartments. Below is the garage, above/behind is a cupboard in the bedroom, to the left is the bathroom and to the right is the garage.

I don’t want to put the filler in the door but I’m not sure of any other options. The older versions of my moho had the LPG in the garage so you could put the filler in the outside wall. I think Hymer changed the design to make it easier to access the cylinders.

Has anyone with a Hymer Exsis-t put in refillable LPG?

Ours (but we don't have a Hymer) is on the side skirt just below the gas locker.
The hose runs through the gas drop vent in the bottom of the locker.
Is it not possible to put it there (on the skirt between the wheel and the garage)?

I did think about that but it is not an easy route from the vent to the skirt.

From experience, put it beside or at least on the same side as the fuel filler.

Having topped up with diesel, it can be a PITA at fuel stations moving a large van around the forecourt, when often the gas pump in front is vacant. (Or vice versa)

On my Hymer I fitted it on the skirt ..

as you said, the door is not a good place ..

Ours is on the same side as the fuel filler. Even tho the gas bottle is on the opposite.

Ours is inside the locker and had no issues filling.
But in your case there is a place in the triangular section under your gas locker and the garage door..
Must be access for a hose from the gas locker to this area.

Under the gas locker, where the triangular section is, is part of the garage. If I run a hose into the garage and then out again, my understand is I’d have to put a gas vent in the garage which, for many reasons, isn’t going to work.

If you sleeve and seal the hose where it would run through the garage, so that any potential leakage cannot pass into it, would that be permissible?

Maybe one for Basildog?

Fit a small square filler in the sill between the wheel arch and garage door, you should be able to take the hose down through the drop vent. My gas locker is in the same place as yours but no external, access via garage.

Here is mine.

Have a under slung tank with filler in the skirt, and gain an extra outside locker.

A lot are fitted in the gas cupboard door,so it doesn't need to be opened for filling.
Mike.

Just had a filler point fitted to my new m/h.The skirts were not really robust enough to take the pressure of connection and disconnection so the dealer liaised with Gaslow and fitted one in the door. This is perfectly acceptable to Gaslow and they have an internal 90degree bend for this very type of install.

The attached picture is looking up at the bottom of the motorhome under the gas locker. The bottom of the picture is where the skirt is. The bottom of the vent is between the black water tank and the chassis beam. The wheel mud flap is at the bottom right.

There are a lot of sharp edges, it’s very exposed to stuff thrown up from the road. I need a properly qualified professional to do this safely. It’s a shame Broken Link Removed is so far away from me.

That’s saves me taking a photo….mine is very similar.

I went for same side as diesel, but in reality have never filled up both at the same time, so that might be a red herring.

some people put them on the acces door, I preferred the gas pipes to be fixed, so went for the skirt.

I've only got a single Gaslow cylinder. The place I fill up doesn't have any issues plugging straight into the fill port on the cylinder. I just open the locker and they pump away.

Ours is on the skirt. As was the previous van.

Flexible corrugated conduit secured to the chassis/body would protect the filler pipe. You don’t have to use the drop vent, so maybe find another route by drilling down through the floor of the locker if possible?

Mines inside the locker. Never been refused in over 5 years.

Below the locker is either the garage or a water tank. The drop vent is in a gap between the two.

Mines in the door as well, not so far to bend down and more rigid then in the skirt.

I think you are over worrying, the fill hoses are very heavy.
Just remembered in my current van my pipe comes down in front of the bottles.

I'll take some pics later being dragged out around a German town now.

Put mine on the gas locker door. that way if I messed up its cheeper to buy a door than a side :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
