Hi all,

Just clarification needed just in case I’ve missed summit.

MoHo is weighed at 4005KG
Car going on A frame is 1554KG
MoHo is Fiat Ducato Autocruise Star Blazer XL 3.0L

No info on towing capacity on V5 so plate says as below.

So is it ok to tow the above?

Owe I have a C and C1 categories before anyone asks.

Ps,
Post the plate up ASAP just waiting on the post man don’t want to miss him lol.

If it is on a complete fiat heavy duty chassis then their wouldn't be a convertors plate as nothing has changed running gear wise from when it was manufactured.

As said the Fiat plate is ilrelavant, the converters plate is the only one that counts. It will be somewhere.

No plate anywhere looked under chassis as well but in the bumf I had with the MoHo was the brochure is the below.

Shows gross train weight as 5500kg, so if your van is 3500 then you can tow trailor max 2000kg.
But why are there asterixs there?
You should / will have a converters plate. This will overide what is in the handbook.

This is what I’m on about no plate anywhere.

Then ask your dealer to supply one, or give a clue to its location, when they open......

Edit, just realised that vin is 4005 gvw, so that probably explains the asterixs on the chart.

The Fiat plates shows 6505kg
The brochure says 5500kg

Is that not the Autocruise reduced number 5500kg?

It would be reasonable to assume so, but you need facts, which means getting a converters vin plate.

But the van is 2nd hand, manufacturer no longer going so I would presume dealers would go off old info like the brochure.

I suspect it is 5500kg which means you would be over. Try SV tech they may be able to advise.

It will be on the Certificate of Conformity, Line 16.4

As for the plate it is a legal requirement. Not in an obvious place on the outside of the vehicle by any chance, mines on the sill by the rear wheel.

Looked everywhere and looking in the pack of paperwork I have found the below which I have a feeling has the answer.

But that's not an Alko chassis with what look like leaf springs

The Fiat axle weights are not normally reduced by so much - suspect the XL is the key here.

The towbar manufacturer could advise. If any chassis extensions have a CoC then the towing weight could be up to 2500kg.

Yes definitely a Fiat chassis, the page showing the trailer weights doesn't show chassis type in the photo.
With an Al-ko it could be higher or lower depending on the chassis configuration.

My first photos I posted up of the underside shows it’s not Alko and has springs.

Therefore going by the paperwork above which is from Autocruise i can presume I can tow up to 2500kg.

The other concern I have is the tow ball which I presume can be upgraded to a better type because from what I’ve been reading there are two balls available.

Thanks all for your valuable help and advice and I hope this helps others as well.

I wouldn't want to risk it unless you can confirm it on the plate or Certificate of Conformity. The Fiat chassis stops just past the rear springs the rest is an extension by Autocruise.
The Fiat plate will refer to the Fiat Chassis without the extension.

As someone else said give SV Tech a ring, if you ask about upgrading and ask about train weights they will be very helpful if they think you are going to give them some business.

Yes you can see the bolt on extensions immediately behind the left hand spring hanger.

monaco/frankia.

Following on from your reply on the other thread interesting because Towtal say it can’t be done yes wire from front to rear socket but the rear led lights have a label stating not to connect to the harness.
