What standard motorhome kit have you never used?

Oven (swapped for microwave), fixed table & its giant support, contraptions that provide two more belted seats. All at home in loft.

Jack

Air bags

Table extension

Inverter - can't remember why I bought it.

TV and aerial - well not for 10 years since I have been with Basia.

Sliding door to rear bed - the curtain is easier(don't know why N&B fitted both.)

Levellers - now at home.

Spare 10lts of water.

Fire extinguisher - I jusy let it burn

Geoff

The 5th belted passenger seat, which has a small frame and separate head rest both of which have lived in my man cave for the past few years.

TV and external aerial.

I think I would find an external shower useful and am considering retrofitting one.

What I've never used is the external gas point for a BBQ. I've also removed the carpet from the kitchen area, just have it in the bathroom, bedroom and lounge.
Shower point is good for after I've been surfing, surf boards and wash down wellies

We removed our fixed table, what a difference that made to our living space, never looked back.
The fixed table in our Niesmann and Bischoff Arto was removed by the previous owner...it's so much more spacious 🚐💖

detachable cupboard front for the overhead area. That came out straight away, much prefer an open netted area for all my 'soft' storage [everything is packed into sail bags or dry bags]
Ladder to bunks. It went missing before I bought Vala
Shower. When you have to open the door to use the shower/toilet because space is so tight it kinda defeats the purpose. I'll re-route to an external washdown point.
TV omni ariel- it did'nt work. bought a cheap flat panel inside one which is excellent.

The generator! Bought as a fall back but so far as a relative newbie alsways found sites with hook up or enough juice to power 12v circuit for long enough while off grid

Second, overcab double bed.

Third jigsaw puzzle double bed.

Hidden rubbish bin in the kitchen area, but it is perfect for stowing the kettle.

Strange satellite panel on the roof, looking to having that removed.

Fancy TV bracket removed.
Bed couldnt come down past it if TV attached. Total !!!!!!!!!
Removed and replaced with a simple flat plate.
All other things intended to be used have been. Stuff intended to avert calamity still there doing its job.

I knew there was something else we havnt used and recently removed. The bike rack was only used for hanging washing on because management regards bikes as an instruments of torture.
Due to its age the red plastic bits have faded to pink so it looked a bit tatty so it came off. I manage to find blanking plates so there are no untidy brackets left behind.
It is still leaning against the workshop wall if any one wants a bike rack for an arranged donation. As far as I know it’s intact.

never slept in an overcab bed yet, and the toy jack supplied by fiat is away in the garage, utter rubbish and dangerous to try and use

Me: The built-in external shower.

Also, the cushions and complicated bits and pieces for the 3rd bed (even the salesman couldn't assemble that). Useless gubbins - it takes up space at home instead.
Usef the shower to wash boots and pushbike once.
Extra bits for the beds, or the carpet. Don't understand carpet in a van.
Took ours out as light tan - replaced with the slot together workshop mats dark grey.

Use external gas all the time.
The spare wheel .....BUT I ain't never ever getting rid of that..
Ditto
At the risk of tempting fate:-
Jack,Wheel wrench or tow eye.
🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞
Mitch.
Same here
Quite handy for washing down a muddy Dog 👍
Or a sandy 🐱🐈🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛
rear view mirror out of the glove box ::bigsmile:
The one stuck to the windscreen 🤬🤬
The floor is cold
See above.

Tempting fate this, but never used:

Spare Tyre
Jack
Air bags

I only use the ladder to the overcab area when parked at home for cleaning that area.
The rest of the time we only put bedding there and cat carriers.
The cats get to the overcab area without a ladder 😳

Edit: clarity
We have a cat & we'd live to take her with us when we get our van. How do you handle the cats? Leads?

We've used most things (not safety) except for the jigsaw bed in the dinette. Also never used the spare 2 seat belts. All in all, quite happy with the set up. Oh, yet to use the plug in the garage, but it will be handy one day.

In transit they each have a carrier that’s held in place.
On a pitch they can roam about inside the Motorhome but we don’t let them outside. Unless I want to go stargazing, neither is that fussed about leaving the Motorhome 👍🏻
I have to watch out for the female cat when I want to sneak out to look for meteorites and stars. She does like to be outside overnight ☹️

We’ve got harnesses but are yet to get the cats used to them 😳🤪

The external water pump socket for filling the on board tank from an external source. The extra cushions for a third bed , wrapped up in the house. Large fixed table replaced by a home made one half the size.

Thank you

Our cat is an indoor cat but we would like to take her with us on trips. I know she would prefer to be with us than a sitter. How do you control things when opening the doors to get in/out?

Full carpet, it sits in storage and we just have a bound remnant on main floor area, none in kitchen area or in the cab.

Luckily they’re really not that fussed about getting out.
When we’re leaving, they’re usually in their part of the Motorhome (they’ve adopted the overcab bed).

Coming back into the Motorhome mrskevenh opens the door slowly. If one is sat in the door footwell, she scoots it back in further. But even then they usually walk away from the opening door. Did I say we’re lucky with them (so far).

To have windows open we close the fly screens.
In summer we’ve a fiammi turbo fan, in the rooflight hole, that we leave on.
