What is the most ridiculously over priced factory option that you bought?

Last 3 new BMW's I got charged "Extra" as "Options" for
Centre Arm Rest
Auto dimming rear view mirror £165
Heated, self parking side mirrors
Electric Front seat lumber support
Alcantera Roof Lining
Some alloy wheels, like split rims are extra £1760.00
Xenon Headlights (dont ask)o_O
Harman Kardon Hi Fi Upgrade.
Contrary to the belief of most, self cancelling indicators:xThumb:
Back in 1986, my boss got a BMW 323i as his company car. The extra I can't forget was the cost of carpets - £800. We'd just had carpets fitted throughout, excluding kitchen and bathroom, in our 4 bed house for the same amount!

Buying a BMW motorcycle, where paint is optional...haaha, I said oh it comes without paint if I don't spec it ?

No, whichever paint comes at a cost, you can't spec the bike wwithout...so it's not an option then

4 fitted sheets for the single beds at the rear of the van. Had to go to the manufacturer in Germany, giving them photos of what I wanted…..got them done, very nice job indeed and er……£480.00. But who’s counting?????😳

The previous owner of my car paid over £3000 for a pioneer stereo , 6 cd boot changer and satnav in 1995
£7300 in todays money
still works perfectly although the map is a little lacking 😂

I looked at BMW and was told that absolutely everything was an extra so ended up with Merc. that came fully loaded. (and, unlike BMW, not sneered at by most people)

Dishwasher in the van, totally useless really and we normally just wash it up in the sink or in sumner outside in a bowl.
I've been paying for a lifetime for one of those.

But SHE is also a good cook so I don't mind!!

Got a Range Rover with heated steering wheel and the heater. Bloody drivers seat not heating though 🤣
Did not like the heated seat option on our old Range Rover…..felt like I was having hot flushes all the time. 😂

Just wondering, when I spec'd a safe in my Hymer Free S 600, it's a metal plate, must be about 9" x 4" and 1/4" thick with a lock in the middle that fits into an existing hole in the Mercedes Sprinter seat base, it was £300, the brochure picture shows a fitted back box but it didn't even come with that!, probably lock down shortages. I felt that I had my pants well and truly pulled down.
I intend to buy a keyless small safe and install myself. Found a decent looking one online at Argos. Also found one that looks like a double plug socket- good idea I thought, so will buy and install one of those myself for around £70.

Can I ask, do you all take a spare motorhome key and hide one under the van?
If so, without giving away your personal
Secrets - where, how?
Thinking about installing an outside lockable spare key holder like you might have on an outside wall at home.

The expensive extra on my new Ducato was a £70000 aluminium wrap from frankia
