What is the best soap/shower gel that wont damage the shower cubicle.

I’ve started using Alberto shampoo bar while camping. I’ve bought a little plastic bag with a sticker that goes on the wall. I’m unsure as to whether there’s anything in it that might degrade a polycarbonate shower cubicle, but I’d very much doubt it.

I like glyercine based soaps - I reckon they are less unkind to skin although I have never thought that any soap might damage a motorhome shower.

But you could try Droyt - nice products, delightfully British & old-fashioned (in a good way) and very pleasant to deal with.

Our van is 23 yrs old, shower is still in one piece and looks good.
We use whatever we fancy for shampoo & shower gel, nothings hurt it yet!

We shower each morning in the motorhome and use what we use at home, i.e. ordinary shampoo and shower gel. After use spray with Mr Muscle Shower Shine and let it dry. Been doing that for over 8 years and no damage yet.

Anything liquid with out SLES, SLS, MIT (Methylisothiazolinone) or PEG's. Many of the posh expensive stuff is made from the crappiest & cheapest base liquids.

Traditional soap bars tend to resolidify in pipes & olive oil soaps leave a film. Unless you know your cubicle is made using Lexan, don't use any bathroom cleaner with Diakyl in it... phosgen atoms kill plastic as it reacts with the polymers.

Trigger Spray Bottle, filled with white vinegar & water, add a squeeze of Lemon if you want to dissipate the vinegar smell, dilute to taste . Spray shower cubicle, hose & taps after each shower, dry with a rubber blade or large microfibre cloth if your really fussy. Its stops any mould growth on mastic from forming.
Thats all Mr Muscle Shower spray & similar are after all, use it at home, great for cleaning mirrors also.

I prefer the one with added sand for that extra tingling in places you didnt know did tingly.

I reckon the best way to avoid damage to the shower is to restrict its use as much as possible... maybe only use it on your birthday and at Christmas...

Any soap based products are OK. It’s the cleaning using bleach based cleaning that ruins them.

Cor, that takes me back! My mum often had to resort to that to get my kid brother clean on a Sunday evening ready for school after a weekend playing out in the way kids were allowed to play back in the 60s.

Only in posh houses, us country folk had to make do with Fairy blocks that you cut in half unless you were using it on clothing along with washboard.
