What Has Motorhome Fun Ever Done For Us?

As a newbie MH owner it has been a great resource for many technical issues as to whether or not to use the loo for number 2s to how to fix the Eberspacher heater. Also to be aware of issues such as MH security. Because of lockdown we haven’t been able to use the MH, but I now feel much more confident about our first trips. Also what about the group discounts?

Well Like so many others it has been a mine of information, both geographical and technical. We have been to countless shows and meets, we have met a large diverse group of Motor-Home enthusiasts. We've saved a lot of money with discounts and DIY advice and spent a lot with the Robber that is eddievanbitz , thanks Eddie. We have been a little inebriated at times and always well fed and lubricated.
We've met an enormous number of lovely people many of whom will be friends for life like
@pandj Broken Link Removed Carol Broken Link Removed Anthea M Broken Link Removed @quickweh @snailtrailer @Taran_Las @retiringjoyce @Mousy FIDGET Broken Link Removed Jim Broken Link Removed Broken Link Removed
and rip Tootles

plus we've also met this bunch of Ner-do-wells

MHF has been a way too making out MH work even more for us .
We loved the lifestyle but even more so by joining the fantastic forum
We’ve had great advice, great holidays on rallies , much banter and support when needed from a great bunch of people I’m proud to call friends!😁

Just wondering...

Kept us informed during lockdown in Spain. Some folk on campsite realised that we’d been camping on Aires and despised us for it but ended up wanting to know what Aires were open for travelling home. Gave us tips in solving problems over the years.

I am on my own so it is wonderful that I can go to Rallies meeting new friends and knowing I am with people who would help me if needed. I feel safe. Also, there is a wealth of info to be read. Being a member on here has enriched my life.

Wouldn’t be without it 💙
From the beginner to the more experience it’s invaluable.
Almost immediate help with any problem personal or mechanical
Fantastic site 💙

This by far the best forum I've ever joined. Met new friends, I've been helped out by many, I've been supported during bereavement and numerous other things. I've now sold my camper but intend buying another next year when all this pandemic is over and is down in the history books, crossed fingers.
I am a lifetime member so will continue to pop in now and again to keep informed about things and maybe look at @old mos jokes, if I can take it!

Since i lost my wife i have been on it a lot more so it has helped me in fact going to Stratford tomorrow never been to a rally before will see how i get on Welsh Girl you sold your van as i was selling mine otherwise i would have had it hope get another one when the time is right

The information gained on here that enabled an informed decision to go across la manche on 15th june was invaluable.
The ex pats department with their "local knowledge" assisted greatly.

Encyclopaedia of knowledge not just M/Homing
Lots of lovely banter
Friends I will probably never meet
Filled up the dreadful void during lockdown
Places to see and hopefully places to visit in the near future.
Hollyberry’s quizzes

Have a great time John

Got "brahms" a few times at some of the rallies.

We're indebted to DBK for all his posts and advice for getting round Corsica. It was so valuable, which way to go round, why, places to stop and see. Just wish you'd been round Sardinia as well!!! Thankyou.

I pick up so many tips and helpful advice.

Fun made our first lone foray into France easypeasy with lists of Aires from Fidget, videos on driving to Aires from Keith Chesterfield and the comforting knowledge that the lovely Franki was available for help and support. We had a fabulous first, second and third trip and fingers and everything else crossed, we're off in September for our long awaited and much needed fourth trip. That's a little of what Fun has done for us, the rest is in all the other posts. This is the absolute best forum for motor home fun and adventure 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

I enjoy it. Great help when needed along with local assistance & made some friends as well.

When I turned up at my first and Motorhome Funs only 2nd meet when it had been going a month or so I had no idea of the journey I would embark on. I had two small kids who were treated by the very small band of new funsters with respect. We had little money back then but it mattered not. we stood at shows handing out MHF leaflets and being met by some proper miserable people and were never left out of anything.
If you were asking my kids the question, they would say it allowed them to meet friends, have some great laughs and help mold them to the men they now are.

It allowed Nikki and I to host some fantastic meets where we would laugh all weekend, it allowed us to meet and make friends. Some of who we now class as our best friends and would still meet even if we had no motorhome.

Some of my most crazy decisions have been made by asking funsters their opinion. Like should I get a dog? should I change jobs? what Van will Haggers buy next.

Many years ago I found the forum far more personal than I do today. You knew everyone that posted and when a meet took place you felt you knew the person even if you hadn't met them. It's different now for sure but still entertaining.

It has helped me raise in excess of 5000 pounds in my running and triathlon events over the years for my charities.

Sadly when small entities grow a bit they lose their way, Jim has managed such difficult conflicts with aplomb, sadly the conversations and political debate you get on here are sad but shows how much of a nation we have become divided since a certain PM asked us to decide if we wanted stars or diagonals on our number plates.

It's not what it was, but it is what it is and for that I still can't resist joining in.

I still abide by the most basic rules

1) don't point people to posts that have already been asked in a negative way.
2) never knock someone's spelling and grammar, if it makes sense it makes it's good enough.
3) be nice (except to those that dont like football))
4) Never take it too seriously.
5) support your fellow funster.

Like you off to France in mid sept but only for 3 weeks.
Yep Sept for us 3 weeks, been a few times but always get excellent advice on hear when you need it, travelling or technical someone’s always done it before and is willing to pass the info on 😁👍

Who also became a dear friend of ours! As did several other members!

A very good source of information, not always right, but again not always wrong.

it is also usefull for informing other like minded enthusiastic travellers who is best suppliers of Motorhome & who are poor at after sales.8

Friends...loads of them over the 12 years we have been members.....and even wore us down to convert 'properly' to motorhomers.

Lots of great help, advice and spot on answers to the endless questions I ask in the self build section. Even if you guys are thinking "oh no, not again" you hold back on saying it and answer my questions. Without it I'd still be looking at a pile of parts and scratching my clueless noggin. Thanks guys!!
