What Has Motorhome Fun Ever Done For Us?

It’s made me laugh, cry, friends, swear at iPad (keyboard warriors) but most of all it’s made me realize more than before there are a lot of folk out there who are willing to help others in a sticky situation with problems, both personal and with there motorhome. Keep up the good work Jim, this forums popularity proves your doing something right. (y)

Lately made me angry and sad in equal measures ;)

But as well as that it gave us all the tools and knowledge to start our fulltiming 10+ years ago, and lots of useful information since. We’ve made some great friends that we see all around Europe and occasionally let us visit. It also has kept us going through stressful times.

The pros outweigh the cons :)

Totally changed my life! Met lots of lovely people and formed some brilliant friendships. Gave me the courage to venture over the channel when about a dozen of us solo ladies headed to Twin Lakes in 2017. What a trip!
Learnt so much from reading the forum and been rescued by a fellow funster, randomly met, at Cite Europe when a fault in my van threatened my 2nd venture abroad. Remember Oscar ? 👍
As I use my van as much as possible all year round it's been hard spending the last 3 months at home but now there's light at the end of the tunnel and I hope to see you all again soon!
Thank you Jim!

We made lots of new friends, and loads of happy memories, I remember meeting you JJ 😉 the man in black with a box of John Smith's under his arm, :hi5: what a great introduction. :beerchug::beerchug::beerchug::beerchug:

🤔😎 Bob Janie and Izzy.

Met some lovely people and had great times with some who I like to think are now good friends.
The information gleaned from the forum has been brilliant and the laughs have been far to many to remember.
Can't think of a better fifteen quids worth.

Richard.

Saved my husband sanity, me constantly earbashing
him about payload! After we bought our M/H, reading so much good advice on here, 1st and only forum i have ever joined, good to know, can ask anything? Always someone willing to help (y)

In the last 10 years it has enabled me to take the piss out of more English rugby fans than I could ever have reached without this as a platform.
Absolutely fantastic (y)

I have been on several forums over the years and they have all got a bit silly after a while with daft unhelpful comments, Fun has on the whole bucked the trend, thanks to the good management of Jim. we have not experienced the face to face friendships as yet but, hopefully this will be rectified at Stratford later this week.
The best £15.00 I have ever spent on the internet.

Made me laugh ( a lot)
Helped me out with questions when I was motorhoming.
Given me answers and ideas on hours stuff I know nothing about.
Helped give me the confidence to full time for 2 years—- I knew there was help, advice, information if I needed it.
Improved my general knowledge as I do sooooo many quizzes each week to find seven that are ok. 😁

Been here since 2008 can’t remember why, but it’s been a good source of info, banter and jokes. I’ve spoken to people I’ve never met, laughed at the jokes and cried with the sadness of others. My subs run out today, will I carry on, What do you think.:giggle::giggle::giggle::giggle::giggle:

What has it done?

1. I estimate it has cost me £145000 in the last year 😡
2. I've lost countless hours of my life on the forum that I can't get back. 🙄
3. Countless digs about how much time I've spent on phone/ipad/pc💩💩💩💩
BUT
It is the only on line site/forum I consider useful
It has saved me many hundreds of pounds on workrounds, installations and purchasing advice 👏👏👏👏
Countless bits of useful advice 👍
Even a few decent jokes 😜
As Carlsberg would say 'if we did a forum' or words to that effect.

Keep up all the good work and thanks!

I agree with Wendo55 wholeheartedly. Before my husband died we sailed all over, I promised I would live my life and I am. With brilliant people who answer questions and my group of solo ladies. My navigation is lousy, but I get there in the end. Thanks Jim

One of the good things I like about 'fun is that it offers a more balanced view on important topics compared to the media. When you ingest what the media has to offer you may think this is the new norm for the world and you're the only odd one out. Then you come here and see a bunch of people are aligned with your thinking. ... especially in current times!

Stopped me doing many a job I should have been doing and got me out of many others just by enjoying time reading the forum. Picked up many tips, hints on how to spend my money and time.
Got me in trouble with the other half for spending too much time sat reading the forum instead of getting off my backside and going for a walk or bike ride. Other than that it is great to gain knowledge and advice from unmet friends, this may change this year if or when we get out. Thanks to all of you.

My sentiments are the same as Wendo55. We both had a few drinks back in 2016 with some other solo friends and in a moment of bravado put our names down for the Twin Lakes rally - never looked back. 2017 was my first trip abroad in the van and I just wish I had done it sooner! All this is purely thanks to MHFun and to a dear friend now deceased who made me join in the first place!
