What fuel shortage

Assuming you have the same size tank as mine, the gauge will have barely moved!
It actually moved from just under 3/4 to full (on the gauge - but I'm not sure whether the pump cut off on its own or whether the tank was actually full).

We were fortunate filled up as we were about to go on our next site the Monday before the media caused mass panic which led to the queues.

Gotta say I have been a bit smug about pressing the 'EV' button on my new car and ignoring the queues. Still got the same tank full I bought six days ago.

Blimey! Mine was on just under half and £80 took it to just above 3/4. That was on thursday before all the lemmings panicked.

It will be all over by Friday as all cars will be full so no room for more fuel = no queues 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

this country is full of 'village idiots'

Yes, but look at the mess caused by those people who have University Degrees !! Do you want a list of names of highly qualified incompetents ?

I'd go so far as to say the "highly educated" have caused more wars and suffering than all the village idiots in the whole of the UK !

In edit, thinking about it some more, this Country should really prohibit anyone who has gone to University from being in any position of Political power.

Just let people who have loads of life experience and common sense do the job. Bet there would be less wars, less crime, less poverty and less inequality in the UK !

Not while you have half-witted twats putting in£3,56 or a fivers worth. Should just be hauled out ,slapped, both feet broken & made to walk everywere.

Trouble is there are a lot of people who will keep topping up by a few quid as soon as they have used it. Someone on here mentioned that a minimum level would sort it out I.e. regardless of how much you filled up upto £30 - you paid the £30! Would have to make it very very clear before people started at the pumps tho to stop arguments. You could then fill up as much as you want as long as a normal vehicle etc or up to say £100.

Another big car driver, people who drive little cars also go to work. They don’t all drive big vans

Got my doubts about that , I wonder if folk with Uni degrees carry out the many stabbings and violence etc and also help fill our jails ?

What on earth has the topic of petrol queues got to do with stabbings and filling our jails?

Maybe the degree-less people do more stabbings, but it's the degree types that start the wars that kill many, many more.

Its a lot quieter today around here in the Durham area. Tesco, Shell, Esso and Bp working as usual with no queuing

As the great Billy Connolly once said:
"The desire to be a politician should automatically preclude you from ever becoming one" :giggle:

Hitler, Stalin, Attila the Hun, Genghis khan, Caesar, don't think any went to uni.

Must be just a British thing then.

Thus, of the 57 Prime Ministers to date, 43 studied at Oxbridge, 11 did not go to university (most recently Winston Churchill and John Major), and only 3, Earl Russell, Neville Chamberlain, and Gordon Brown, went to other universities (Edinburgh, Birmingham and Edinburgh respectively).

I think you will find that from the first world war onwards that every time Britain has gone into a war, or some form of military action there has been a Degree educated chap or woman in charge.

John Major was the only PM to run away from the circus to join a Bank ... (y)

Don’t know why the government should have insisted no filling of cans other than 1, 5 litre one. I run a diesel car but got dirty looks when I fill up. A jerry can for my strimmer.

I think I'll stick with the university educated people for my GP dentist accountant solicitor etc thanks rather than someone who has no qualifications other they common sense. I think most wars are caused by religion and tribalism and it seems like the tribalism bit judging by football thugs racists etc seems linked to lower intelligence if anything.

Your totally right that you need the highly educated, specialist to give the best service in all fields. BUT to assume a degree is the best qualification to be the leader of this Country is totally wrong.
