I've spent the weekend dodging some maniac in a black landrover trying to run me over

Re routing the exhaust of the diesel heater to the other side of the van. Should be all ready for next winter.

family dinner cancelled:rolleyes: so we have dusted n vacced a few rooms:eek:, cleaned and tided garage, shed, cut lawn, walked furbert twice!, bout to order chinese for dinner yum yum.....and bloody worked most of saturday , at work....:(

Just back from a two week jaunt around Scotland. Drove up from Surrey overnight arrived in Hawick (free aire) 4.15 AM, good nights sleep, saw Hawick left late afternoon, wilded at Peebles right on the river Tweed, then continued up the East coast A9 .
We wilding at Rosemarkie on The Black Isle to see the Dolphins, then carried on up, picture at John O Groats, wilded again off road on northern coast past Doonreay, next day drove around sea loch to Durness (amazing drive) stayed at CMC CL to empty & refill.(Thanks Charles CL owner)
Wilded near Torridge (amazing find), wilded again between Oban & Fort William.
Most awesome bit to see & Drive in the middle was Pitlochery to Braemar through Glen Shee, then stayed at CMC site Braemar to fill & Empty (expensive meal & Drinks at hotel), next day another awesome drive from Braemar to Tomintoul .
White Knuckle drive with our biggish van on the B869 to Drumbeg and beyond:eek: very very narrow and twisty up & down 2nd gear jobbie (Sign says not suitable for caravans and HGV,s:whistle:) no going back as no room for 3 point turns. Ended up wilding at Stoer Light house, evening spoilt by Park4Nite late arrivals (another story of how ignorant & selfish some pepes can be):(
Finished up seeing family in Ayrshire, not seen in last 20 years, oh how we have aged, well me at least:(
Then a rainy over night drive return to Surrey M74, M6, A66 to Scotch Corner, Then M1 to M25, M3 to home.
Very tiring run back 11 hours with 2 stops,Cruise Control set at 60MPH 26.2 MPG averaged over 1800 miles, including highlands steep windy bits but we had the roads to ourselves for a change.
We had 2 weeks of sunshine touring Scotland with no rain at all(y)its either a miracle, or the weather Gods knew it was our honeymoon(y):D
PS: sorry to use the word/description "Awesome" but some of the views and wild spots we discovered in Scotland, especially Sutherland and Glen Shee are so worthy of that overly used Americanism term.
So sad to see so much discarded rubbish in such beautiful locations, thrown out of car windows or left by campers, having had camp their fires. I couldn't enjoy my evening without clearing it in black bin liners the taking it with us to the nearest bin. surprised to see so many lay byes and viewing spots with no bins available, but I doubt these louts would use them anyway:mad:
Thanks for viewing, we have 1000 plus pictures to name & sort out now, but what a fantastic time we had. We must do the bits we didn't have time for next and soon I hope.
Thank You Scotland for being so Beautiful, so sunny & warm, with not a midge to be endured at this time of year(y)
Les & TinaL

Folkestone, The Warren, a cc site right by the beach. It's not far from us and lovely when the weather's nice, but still relaxing when it's not. :)

As my MH remains on order I'll have to slum it under canvas in the New Forest and put up with all the plebs trying to use an overcrowded shower block on a Camping in the Forest site :cautious:

Heading up to loch earn for the night then up to Glencoe tomorrow for the weekend. Hopefully the weather is good (y) :)
