What’s in your MH freezer?

Steel has about twice the heat capacity of ice, if you compare the volume not the weight. Heating 1cm³ of steel from -20°C to 0°C requires 67 joules. Heating 1cm³ of ice from -20°C to 0°C requires 38 joules.

However melting 1cm³ of ice at 0°C requires 307 joules, so 1cm³ of ice has a much bigger cooling effect overall than 1cm³ of steel.

The advantage of steel is that it doesn't dilute the drink like the ice does when it melts.
Doesn't it rust?

Just being nosy, really. Mine has steel ball ice cubes for G&Ts, a slice of sous-vide belly pork, individual chorizo sausages for bean stews and pasta, and did have a couple of bread rolls until yesterday’s planned hike.

We used to take oven chips (or, better, left-over chippy chips) so we could do them in the Omnia, but then realised they were such a commonplace thing when eating out that we wanted to avoid them when cooking for ourselves.
Chips and fish for the air-frier, spinach, toast loaf and country sandwich loaf.

Gnocchi with vegetables in a nice sauce from Mercadonna. One of our easy indoor meals for our Spain trip homeward bound journey.

Chips and some baps and burgers for emergencies probably still be there in 80 days ish.....and some chopped up blood oranges for Seviila gin.....oh and some ice cubes.....

cheers🍻

Ours just has ice cubes, and at LEAST a couple of trays of homemade goodies (usually a cottage pie + a stew), decanted into foil trays, so just have to be put in the motorhome oven to reheat, or tipped into a pan and heated on the gas. Sometimes theres a lasagne, chilli or spag bol.

We tend to not bother with chips or other mainsteam food as others have pointed out you can get that anywhere, usually even via a delivery service to a campsite (or even a carpark, we're had a Nandos delivery to a literal parking space in a aire like stop befor enow). However a full home cooked experience without the faff of actually having to home-cook it in the van is our jam -> it' takes no time to make an extra portion at home and results in a nice week or two away. The MH freezer fits usually at least 5 meals for us in it.

We use disposable foil trays from costco (same ones that some takeaways deliver in) as these are easiest with the gas oven to use, and least messy, as the plastic ones need decanting prior to being put in oven.

My neighbour, hes been a real nuisence lately
Just wondering as you do, thinking of the relative size of our Moho freezer compartment, whether you needed to spatchcock the carcass to get it in there - or what?
