We've bought an elderly but, very tidy Kon-Tiki & its fun. Photo heavy.

This reminds me, I was going to ask what the Scot's term 'kinEEjit" translates to in English?

Its hard to describe to non camper or caravan owners how snug & warm you feel being away in the van in the winter on a cold night, we love it(y)
Best wishes to you all up there, I hear the weather is better than down here at the moment so even more reason to come on up.
PS: Hoping that we can visit The House O' Hill Pub/Restaurant, have a few pints & a meal, then kip down in their car park for the night, fancy a pint with us?

Hi John.

The weather is really nice today & last night the sky was as clear as a bell, it had been sunny all day. All in all it was a perfect night in the moho.
We didn't even put the heating on!

Let me know when your going to make it up here & we'll see if we can get to The House O The Hill, twas my late dads favourite place for a meal & bunk down in the car park, we've been going there since the 1960s.

Regards....Robert.

Going to be cold in the Galloway Hills tonight, forecast is for freezing temperatures! Clear skies just now so plenty of stars shortly.

Looks a great buy!

We have had various Swifts for years and only had a problem with one.

So satisfied with them that when downsizing to a PVC bought another Swift and still love it.

Yes we have always liked the Swift caravans in the past, but only up to about 2006/7.....we had a new Sterling and hated it once we'd had it a little while, it ended up going to NZ.o_O

So with no further ado, I give you "Peggy".

The board of Director of Help The Aged applaud your brave and honourable act. We are in a society where the old are pushed into a corner, ignored, neglected, despised because of their incontinence and general unwholesome smells. People like you restore our faith in mankind.

In 1991 we bought our 1st new caravan at the then Goodhalls caravans. When we went to look round they let us stay on the overnight stay area. They gave us the keys to practically every new van on the forcourt and as we were looking round a transporter turned up with 2 new Swift Kontiki,s and they looked great. It was way above our price range but it sparked a dream. From that day on we told ourselves we would get a M/H one day. They were actually left unlocked for a while and we had a good look round them, very nice inside. It was 17 years before we got a M/H. So its nice to see that there are still plenty of good ones about. Enjoy.

I beg your pardon, my moho doesn't dribble or smell!
However I frequently dribble & smell o_O:D2

I congratulate you both. Well done.

It looks a cracking motorhome.

We have had lots of posh and sporty cars over the years but the two that stand out above all the Porsches and Lotus's over the years we have had (I used to change my car like my underpants) were a lovely old Peugeot 405 diesel estate with leather trim and our current 1988 2CV. We have a current BMW and SAAB convertible but I ALWAYS take the 2CV when I get the choice.

It is not about how new or posh or expensive the car or motorhome is but the character that it has.

The pictures look lovely and I hope that you enjoy it,

Get out there on some deserted lake side or sea coast and have a great time. Also remember that you won't have any depreciation to worry about.

As we say in France, bravo!

Many happy adventures with Peggy, she's gorgeous xxx

My old friend is a 1989 Hymer Mobile. No turbo, no power steering and very little trouble. Bertie Burstner .

He's loyal, well mannered and behaves like a gentleman .I keep looking for another but, for now, our love will go on .

I had a Bedford TK 7.5T horse lorry many moons ago that lacked everything AND the starter motor used to stick now and then, I used to whack it with a big spanner & that always worked. The OH at the time would not drive it, mind you he didn't do any of the work or run around the show ring with the ponies either....he just enjoyed the glory & the beer tent..........oops, sorry about that, I had a bit of a mini rant there.

I used to love the simplicity of the old bedfords, little that couldn't be fixed with very basic tools
