Has anyone on here uprated their MH weight themselves and not through an agency. If you have was it an easy process or should I leave it to the agency

So if it's on the 33 light chassis that explains the discrepancy.
Probably, yes, and having looked at Sunlight's website they do use the 33 light for some vans. When I had the old Adria I enquired about uprating it to 3500kg and was told I could do it without any modifications (this was with SVTech, I think it was before you found JR). As at that time I wasn't bothered about going over that, I never asked whether it would've been possible to go up to 3650kg (the sum of the axles).

In the end, I never did bother, but it did mean being careful about how we loaded.

I'm not convinced of the validity of their statement simply because the DVLA/DVSA specifically approved him to undertake this work knowing what/how he was doing it ...
And that's why I am happy to use and recommend him too, having been successfully up plated (paper exercise), on two vehicles by John, the latter being a commercial IVECO chassis.

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Sorry to hijack the thread, but does anyone know what’s involved to up plate a Fiat maxi chassis (NOT Alko) from 4250 to 4500kg I‘m on 118 tyres at present and NO air assist suspension?

Speak to a person / company who knows what they are talking about and what they are doing. A phone call to SV, with no obligation, costs nothing.

Unfortunately, I’m still waiting for JR to reply to my questions.🤷‍♂️

If you want 3850 with 2240 on the rear axle, you will need semi air and 225/70/15 tyres

Bought my MH from Highbridge and they used SV Tech to uprate my Ford to 4000 kgs before I collected it, still waiting for the Log Book from DVLA but was warned it's taking 10+ weeks
