Are you swapping the orange Twin?![]()
A nice looking van. I hope your brother gets on alright with the transplant, my brother was lucky enough to have a lung transplant when he was 69 which is well past the normal cutoff age, he has just passed 11 years, sadly he is not doing so well now, but well passed the expected time for a person of his age.Euramobil Xtura. It didn’t use to have diesel heating so was behind the Hymer ML-T in the running, but Alde are bringing out a diesel heater for the 2026 model. We’ll either wait for that or get it retrofitted to one we can get sooner.
So excited, this van has everything we want - more sitting space, plus fixed bed, bigger bathroom, 4x4, Mercedes, winterised.
My brother is in hospital recovering (with some ups and downs) from a lung transplant 10 days ago. We just thought f@ck it, life is short, who needs savings anyway?
Lovely van, we watch some you tubers (I think it was reds go travels) last night in that van, I said to Mrs Westy it was a lovely van and imho better than the MLT 580 (yes I’d love one of those also) so congrats on the new van
Thanks Widge. My brother had a very short life expectancy and very poor quality of life before the op. I visited him yesterday in Papworth on the way back from the NEC and he was looking pretty good - had managed to walk up a flight of stairs which would have been impossible before. He has had a return to ICU and there is still some issue with the new lungs - potentially an infection - but we’re crossing everything and hoping he’s out of the woods now. He’s 62 in a couple of weeks. I hope he does as well as your brother - all the best to him.A nice looking van. Early on he regularly traveled to and from Australia, then got confined to home for the best part of two years during covid, then wasn't good enough to fly, but has tried to make the best of his extended life while he can.
Same here, I flew over in the November to see him, expecting it to be the last time and he got the call in the January, sort of similar to now, I came over last may for his 80th, at this rate he might even get to his 81stThanks Widge. We actually went to Birmingham specifically to look at the MLT with this as a back up option . Sadly for them, Hymer weren’t there at all! Still, we were blown away by this van. The Hymer does have some nice features we’ll be missing (second cassette stowage, that slatted wallboard and the fancy light) but the finish on this van is better and the spec for the money seems much better.Lovely van, we watch some you tubers (I think it was reds go travels) last night in that van, I said to Mrs Westy it was a lovely van and imho better than the MLT 580 (yes I’d love one of those also) so congrats on the new vanjust don’t tip it over like the other couple in the MLT a few years ago

Congratulations on your new van. Having lost a brother in law who died in a works accident at the age of 43 and several friends through various illnesses my moto is ‘do what you can while you can’ as you don’t know what’s around the corner and you can’t take your money with you’. Road trip to Australia in the planning now then…?![]()
Thanks Pauline and everyone expressing similar feelings. We've found since we retired that we don't really want to spend money on much - eating out and expensive motorhomes, yes (!!), but we don't feel the need for many of the things we used to destress from work.Congratulations on your new van. I know, and they're cream-coloured! A trip to Morocco to get seat covers made is already being discussed! It will be fun to watch you keeping the seats nice and clean with Flynn.![]()
We have had 3 Hymers but over recent years not seen a Hymer we like.
I like the Euro Mobil on the Hymer Crossover the graphics put you off before you step inside.
Only thing I don't like about both vans are the flat locker doors they look a bit naff in vans of that price.
Here you go!Very nice indeed, congratulations , can we have more pictures please![]()
