We didn’t expect this! (NEC 2025)

Lovely van. We were there Thursday no wonder we couldn't get to look at it, you were both hogging the van🤣🤣🤣

We nearly made a decision on a new van but couldn't quite be brave enough to do so. Good on you both. Enjoy.

I say be brave, and on this thread a few people seem to feel the same way. We had ourselves scared about spending so much, but then you realise that it’s not the same as buying most other things - there’s a lot of value left in your motorhome after five years’ use.

Not to mention the amazing travel experiences you’ll have 👍😍

We were brave on Saturday. Also going from a Twin to Xtura. Now need to be patient.:giggle:

I want to upgrade our compressor because it’s hopefully going to get more use. I noticed that you were recently in the sand and saying that you’ve been using your compressor which one do you have and would you recommend it?

Also, same question for recovery boards…
Having been a Landrover owner for a couple of decades, unless you are doing serious off-roading in mud or sand I'd not bother with recovery boards.

But I would suggest you get 6 or 8 Millenco Grip mats
I carry 4 at all times (My MLT is 2x4)

They are compact, light, they nest together, and they are held onto the inside of the bike rack with long Velcro cable ties
Which means they are easy to get when needed, and because they can be filthy, live outside the vehicle.

I have attached a loop of paracord to each one, so that you can pull it out of the mud without having to dig it out.

I looked at several different options, the Millenco Grip mats seem to be the best 'bang for the buck' and I can confirm they work!

For recovery also get a kinetic tow rope and rope shackles.
I'd also get a long Lorry load ratchet strap. It means you can (very slowly) extract yourself if you have a suitable anchor.
A tow bar is a good idea, as it's usually easier to pull you out the opposite of the the way you went in !

Thanks Brains - do you mind if I re-post this in the 4x4 group? And please join if you're interested.

And I’m sure you’ve seen this already
But if not
A lot of talk about the tech on your new van

Super impressive

Maybe I should stop looking at ML-T 580’s 😳

Absolutely stunning van 😍
What’s the rack on the non drive side on the back?
Thanks!

It’s just storage I'm not sure if it’s a standard system but Eura sell a spare wheel mount and a bike rack for it.

They mentioned June and October. I'm braced for a long wait. What did they say to you? I think you got your order in before us.

We did get in quick we were there early on the first day of the show and acted quickly once we’d made the snap (but very well considered and though out) decision.

We were initially told June but after the show it changed to “Early April.” We are supposed to get a more accurate delivery date soon. Apparently they will be invoiced by Eura soon and then we’ll get our date. Ours will apparently be the first of three to arrive in April.

Yes we have. Interesting translations. The tech guy actually speaks really good English. He made a very detailed video on the electric system.

There is a big review of the MLT in the recent MMM. TLDR; they like it a lot.

Joined, thanks.

Sorry, I missed this - Rog and I sharing an account doesn’t always work. They’ve said early - mid April to us.

Edit - sorry, R did reply!

Oh, and I’ve just found the review - it’s of the 2WD Xperience 570, not the AWD model.

If my German is up to the job, I think the url on the van is of a 4WD hire company. So presumably they’ve added all the toys :)

Hm. There's a fair bit of extra kit on it but I'm not sure it adds up to €250k

Liking the air suspension and the winch, it definitely needs a winch, it’s just great to get yourself and other funsters out of trouble 😎😆😆😆
