I may have understood the problem, and my only experience of lockable caps is the fuel filler cap on an A-class mh, but turning the lock barrel to the 'other' extreme position makes it work. Mainly because I turned it the wrong direction in the first place! Thanks for replies
Locks n unlocks fine it’s getting it out which is difficult just wants to spin around even when I try n push it in and turn!
I have took it off now and nearly threw it over hedge
I haven’t replaced it now, will wait till travel and then not going to lock it see if that helps
Mine did the same. Found that the outer blue was turning but the locking catch bit wasn’t. First solution was to ram in cocktail sticks and break off. This worked for a while until the would got soggy. Next solution was the same but add superglue. This worked and is still working one year on. Hi-tech stuff, eh?Why is it so difficult to remove the water fill capI unlock it and it just goes around n around until I get mad then it comes off

Water Filler Cap GRIPPER
GRIPPER. This is to help funsters (including me) that suffer from arthritis and have trouble removing their filler caps. It’s designed to fit the cap type with 3 little finger holes that really don’t give you much grip. I’ve made it with a nice big...www.motorhomefun.co.uk

I have bought a few things from him, all been a great help including the tray to stop water dripping onto top engine onto injectors (fiat ducato problem)I found my cap unlocked fine but once unlocked was often very hard to unscrew.
Paul&Chrissy's "gripper" makes the job simple.
Same here.I have bought a few things from him, all been a great help including the tray to stop water dripping onto top engine onto injectors (fiat ducato problem)
He is very useful to know, wish I was that cleverSame here.
He’s also made me some custom bits including a set of cooker knobs! He even made a set of about 6/7 different sized “ middles “ so the grip on the metal spline was a perfect fit. Not too tight but not too loose either. Top work!
Oh and a custom bracket for my heated grip switch on my KTM! View attachment 893498View attachment 893499View attachment 893500View attachment 893501View attachment 893502View attachment 893503View attachment 893504
I have another 2 jobs for when they get back from Europe.
Good solution!I had to add a small self tapper screw to mine to stop it spinning, not even very old piece of crud.
Mike.

Thank you
It is. I once had a Spanish forecourt attendant try to fill my water tank with diesel. The locking cap stopped him.I'm not sure it's worth having a locking water filler at all.
I bought one too and they do a great job especially with my arthritic fingersYeah that's what I bought they do worth well
