Washing up liquid .....how long ?

Mine lasts for about 12 months in the house.. The mh has a different bottle and that can last even longer.. Don't buy the cheap ones any more as they don't work.

Bought an environmentally friendly one last month ready for use when I run out but looks like may have long wait.

I sometimes Google 'alternatives' when I'm bored and make some up out of household stuff. Juzt chopped some fresh mint, put in water and supposed to use it as kitchen cleaner to keep spiders out.... I had a terantula on the carpet yesterday morning.. I thought it was a big flower. Aaaaaaaaagh

My mum saw that article about spiders too as she sent it to me.

I'm sceptical because she once told me spiders were scared of conkers so if you put them in the corners of your room you wouldn't get spiders.

So one day I was hoovering and a giant spider was sat on top of the conkers proud as punch..

Since then I take everything with a pinch of salt

I find a bottle of washing up liquid lasts about 9 months. In my bid to cut down on plastic and not but anything containing palm oil I’m going to experiment making my own dishwashing soap. Will try to get some started today ( after I’ve cleaned the living room, walked the dogs again and done some more work on the bl***** Christmas trees I’ve been asked to make)

But if every one stops buying washing up liquid what are 5 year olds gonna use for rockets???

Never use it as my MoHo is possessed by magic. Whenever we are away and I have something to drink or eat and go outside afterwards to do whatever when I return it has magically disappeared from the table, washed itself and put itself away in its correct cupboard. Like I said magic.

I had a coffee table like that once ..

Being able to build electronic stuff, I built into a washing up liquid bottle a measuring device which shows how much you use with each squirt and therefore able to project the "running out date" of each bottle. Each squirt is currently running at about 0.000195 mL and the expected run out date is 15th Feb 2198.

This is April the first isn't it ?

I can't access the belly locker and I don't see any reason why it should be controversial.

It's a genuine motor home question, especially as we have people with all different types of useage etc.
Sounds like boredom to me,,there must be Rugby on tv,,Too hot here though to be indoors.??BUSBY.

We have a dishwasher at home but I do have a bottle of Fairy, however our water in Dorset is very, very hard so I only buy the cheap stuff for the van as Nick is my dishwasher away from home and it’s very hard to retrain him to use a tiny amount! Mind you I’m as bad really with the shower gel and shampoo the first day or two away when it takes ages to wash the suds away as I’ve forgotten again and find myself covered in bubbles head to toe.

I was told as a child that the reason to use conkers was they slip off when they try to walk over them! And consequently get around the house, Sure it was only last year that somebody said it was the smell they didn’t like! ? felt a right Pratt!

Northernraider Tam think you’re in serious need of human company for conversation having now resorted to fairy liquid and wiping one’s bum. ?
If he really wanted to try something new he could put some washing up liquid on his toilet paper and then once he's wiped he could entertain himself with sweet smelling farts and blowing bubbles!

Where do we stand on diluting the last little bit of the bottle to stretch a bit more life out of it?
Also taking the top off and rinsing the gungy bit out to use.

I refuse to comment on the wiping and toilet roll threads.?
(Are you alright Tam??)

Ok so who is going to get a fresh bottle and count how many single drips you can get from a standard bottle? we use cheap stuff. Next time it rains I will try it. A couple of years ago the local kids put a bottle in the local fountain there was bubbles everywhere. Most shoppers were laughing their heads off. Wrong, but I had to dash off to the loo. It took the council a week to drain it. It’s now a flower bed.

At a holiday camp years ago somebody did the same to all the fountains but they also added manganese permanganate. Lovely purple bubbles everywhere.

We bought a M and S bottle in February and it’s still going if that helps

We use fairy liquid, normal green one and pretty sure the 400ml we are using at the moment we brought around January 2018 when we went into a house for an assignment, took it with us then into the van, still about a quarter left so will last a while yet.

Mum always was trying different brands and she'd get through them in a week, saying that she now uses Fairy but says it doesn't last long either, was round there the other day and when she went to wash up there was this almighty squeeze into the bowl, it was like one of those scenes you see in the clubs that have the foam dance areas, no wonder it doesn't last them long. I do feel that some of the older generation are still in the mind that you have to use loads of any washing liquids to do anything, its the same when they do the clothes washing.
A normal bowl of washing for us would need a drop of Fairy around the size of a pea.

On a separate note been having our washing done at our parents whilst back in the UK at the moment and they still are of the mindset that everything has to be boiled to buggery at such high temps to get things clean, you'd think they are trying to wash the plague away, mention a 30 minute wash program and if looks could kill.........
