In my opinion, I think members of this forum are more likely than most to respect their environment - there will always be people that don't, it doesnt matter if they are driving motorhomes, cars or riding push bikes.
Unfortunately, due to a few irresponsible actions, from a small minority everyone gets the same treatment. It has happened in spots all over the country from Cornwall to Scotland.
Any resident from any area takng the law into their own hands, is contemptable - that makes them no better than the person offending them, and when they have done nothing to offend them, then it is just mindless vandalism.
I am sure, you as well as myself have sworn at a dawdling driver in front when we are rushing about our daily grind - but when you live in an area that is beautiful, you have to accept that you are lucky to see those vistas every day, whereas they have probably never seen them before! - We have all done it!
In Cornwall 65% of the counties GDP comes from tourism - I have never understood some of the Cornish who moan about tourism when they rely on it so heavily - and have no time for their gripes. It is Cornwalls' bread and butter - so deal with it....and that is a sentiment that stands for any tourist area. It happens in every county.
I like to think that most campers are responsible - just as in any form of activity, there will be those that are less favourable and respectful of their environments - be it off roading, walking, boating or any other past time.
All we can do is set and example, and hope it catches on! :thumb:
Happy touring Folks!
