Warner Shows is next company to join the rip off culture

my problem with warners is the sixties entertainment anyone who was 15 in 1960 is now 77 while i understand motorhome owner tended to be older thats not the case now warners they need to move on musically
at least one venue should be limited seating similar to most venues for live nights out and play something less than 30 years old

The Lincoln End of Season Finale has already been increased by £10 this year so it's another £5 on top.(y)

I think its changing times. It used to be that you went to shows to see the latest thing but these days you see them on forum sites or You Tube. There also used to be a lot of deals for cash but these days everything is card. Its not just motorhome shows that are being hit, the world is moving on.

Show organiser are between a rock and a hard place; they need to put fees up to cover the additional costs that have steadily grown over the years but then they will get less stands and fewer visitors year on year.
Some years ago I looked into the exhibition type of real estate business. The project was to create an exhibition centre for Bristol similar to the NEC. The usual Bristol lack of vision killed it.

What they charged per sq ft of exhibition space on an annual basis across a number of shows made the equivalent rental cost per sq ft of City of London prime office space seem cheap. I doubt if that has changed much over the years.

Years ago the county show grounds that get used were probably owned by a group of farmers, for farmers and the farming community. Now I expect it’s owned by big buisness with debts to service on it etc so want big returns on their money

There’s nothing new here. I used to be in the exhibition business and over the years several quite major shows priced themselves out of the business, mainly with exhibitors costs, which led to fewer exhibitors which led to fewer visitors etc., etc., etc.

There is an assumption that 60's 70's 80's tribute bands is what everyone wants yet the reality is contemporary artists are far more conducive to a good day/evenings entertainment. Maybe I am wrong but Fleetwood mac et al whilst of their time and whilst produced great music I really do not wish for looky likeys to attempt to replicate what had been.....no thanks.

I have never ever been to a show so I don’t know what there all about.
I have found a lot more information here on the forum .

any thing I wanted to know or share with other members is here.

new tech others on the forum have seen it or mentioned it. So if I have been interested all I have had to do is ask.
and all for free.. what more an a motor homer want.
Perhaps to personally thank a member for that vital piece of valuable information.

Could be worse. You could be in a care home with a Vera Lynn tribute performer.
If that was the case I think I would utter ‘Kill me now’ ! ( no disrespect to any Vera Lyn music lovers or Vera Lyn herself)

Each to his own. 60's 70's tribute bands might encourage me to go :giggle:

So would anyone rather that Warners sacked all their staff by a pre recorded zoom call and then hire the cheapest people they can find to run it regardless of ability or communication skills?

The fact is that the last 2 years of turmoil caused by on/off lockdowns, travel bans etc etc have had a massive effect on hospitality and travel businesses. It always was inevitable that it would lead to price rises and the only folk that couldnt see it are the ones that don't associate "Government Money" as having to originate from their taxes.

IMHO its only a matter of time before we see fuel surcharges reappear for flights and cruises caused by us basically banning Russian Gas and Oil ( an action I think we should have taken long ago btw)
What he said..exactly.

On one thread p o are being slaughtered for sackings to keep going...on this one Warner's are for trying to keep staff by increasing prices.

We can't have our cake and eat it.

I was born in 61 and it would have been in dads mk1 cortina. How times have changed.
8 gallons to the pound! 2/6 a gallon.i was about seven or eight at the time. Would have been 1958?

I also remember getting hot under the collar for the "Regent" girl. Holding the fuel nozzle like a gun. Getting stick on bullet hole stickers. Before that, the Esso tigers tail. 🐅
