At Vanlife festival ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ˜ฌ.
Certainly less space than a CAMC site ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
Obviously the other vehicle has parked where instructed but itโ€™s certainly close ๐Ÿ˜‚

 You should have come to MORELO there were about 800 parked like that;)
Lol funflair . They are a lovely old couple with a happy little dog . Certainly put me at ease when I pre apologised for any noise from the kids , even offered to help me if I had any problems !
Brilliant neighbours ๐Ÿ‘

I find a smile and a few kind words settle any unseen differences and each show respect from the start.
So true, a good few years ago we were at a tandem cycle rally in the Netherlands, a couple turned up with a tent and they were that close to us that he was putting pegs under our van๐Ÿ˜ฎ I was sent out to โ€œsort itโ€ a couple of minutes later I returned โ€œyes please they would love a cup of teaโ€ #sorted, they did say โ€œare we too closeโ€ but I said no it was fine, he actually had a spinal injury from a motorcycle accident and needed to be close to the road to get to the block in his car, he cycled with a hand cranked wheelchair.

Stayed at an aire in Dresden that was so close that we had to compromise window openings with our neighbour because they clashed. We closed our window while they were cooking because it was steaming up our van.

Brilliant location though, just walk across the bridge and you're in the heart of the city.

Why do you put up with that I would drive me crazy.
90 sq m is our minimum.
I suppose living in the countryside makes us like that.
I'm not a lover of the sardines in a can approach to parking

In our previous PVC, when we were on tour, we're rarely in the van. It got us places, it was somewhere to sleep, that was it. I didn't care what the parkup looked like. The more convenient it was to see the sights, the better.

I've swapped to a slightly bigger A-class. I'm experimenting with working from the van to extend short trips. So I'm spending more time in the van, so the view matters a little more. But I'm still fine with 'cosy' Aires most of the time.

Well obviously it was going to be tight at MORELO as they had 800 vans to fit in a finite space, we knew what it would be like and wanted to be there so accepted that it would be "a bit tight", again Dresden ? we have also been there and again wanted to be in that position relative to the city twice the space would be twice the price.

Honfleur Aire, that's all I have to say on that.
Ironically most packed aires are quieter at night than many UK campsites. Go figure.

Shouldn't the number plate have been blacked out? There could be repercussions.

That reads like a Ricky Gervais skit , imagine if you had kicked off then saw him struggling to get to his wheelchair after struggling to move his tent

It was easier to ask if he wanted a cup of tea as he was Dutch anyway and I am sure he would not have understood my "kicking off" and to be honest it was never on the cards, saying that his English was perfectly good when we discussed Brexit (before we voted).

We found Honfeur fine, at Le Crotoy last week they were triple parked in a block in the middle, we where at the front on the end, nice spot.
I usually find because of our length I can get the bedroom slide out without inconveniencing our neighbours.
No way at San Sabastian stadium Aire as we had cars close both sides.

Forget Aires.
Try getting out of a van at the gas pump at Trago Mills at Stover.

They've put two girt big 'solid' posts in front the pump so arguing with them is a no no and if you're not quick getting out on the o/s, someone parks up beside you to get their fuel and traps you in.

As someone who wouldnt take out the reg number, even of my own van, what are the potential repercussions with the exception of some harshly written words on a social media platform ?

Genuine question as I keep reading about it and wondering, or am i missing the joke ?

Had a small tent pegged literally under the van and the tent was so close you could easily hear the shenanigans of the young couple who occupied it.

First morning they were there, Iโ€™d been and collected some fresh water and used the outside shower to wash the mud off my feet, then cooked some bacon sarnies for breakfast. I heard the girl telling her fella, that not only do they cook bacon for breakfast and she was hungry, but they had a shower outside and they had nothing, not even a bowl to wash in.

Sounds like the LPG pump at Patchham (Brighton) I was on my own and parked too close to the pump & got stuck cashier had to come out to see me out.

I was referring to Aire parking in general rather than a gathering

Not for me, if I had that sort of parking near me most of the time the van would be up for sale๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ณ
Been on a few aires and Stelplatz and luckily never had anyone that close where I could not open a door or window.
