Votronic 1212-30 B2B - *warning*

I already have a votronic mppt which trickle charges the vehicle battery from solar and the onboard controller trickle charges when on EHU, but your suggestion is helpful, thanks
You shouldn’t normally need to do any modifications. As long as the Votronic B2B is directly connected to the starter and leisure batteries (including via a Schaudt EBL) it will automatically charge the starter battery when the leisure battery is being charged from solar and ehu.

Make sure your seller includes the temperature probe.

If you get the version 3 B2B, it’s a different manual to the original B2B manual. The settings are slightly different. I can post the old and new manuals if you need them.

Why do I need a Schaudt EBL ?

Thanks, the info re the serial number is really helpful. I've seen one with the 20V serial number and messaged Votronic, hopefully they will offer to exchange it, I just want to make sure that the seller hasn't already had a replacement issued and is selling the old one !!
When Votronic replaced mine, it was dispatched by Roadpro in the UK, and they asked for the old one back.

thanks, its just that earlier in the thread some people were told to keep them ,,,, i dont mind buying it but want to make sure they will exchange it and it hasnt already been replaced and they werent asked to send it back.

i also realise that i could quite easily make the required 'improvements' to make it safe (as explained earlier in the thread) but if i can get a brand new 'exchange' its def a win !!!

Thanks to those that contributed in this thread.

I have a Votronic VCC 1212-30A B2B and in the three years I have had it it has performed as it should. However in an abundance of caution on Sunday I sent an email to Votronic asking if mine was one of the faulty ones.

At 9:45am today, Tuesday, I got an email from Votronic to say that this device "is still an older generation" and offering an exchange which would be dealt on their behalf by Roadpro. 15 minutes later Roadpro phoned me to confirm my address has not changed and said they will be posting it and include a paid for return slip so I can return the old one. At 12:45pm I got an email from DPD saying that they will be picking the new one up from Roadpro later today.

I consider that this is a very good example of customer support from both Votronic and Roadpro.

My old B2B had the serial number 21v0126487. Because of the way my B2B is mounted, it was a bugger to read the number. I resorted to the wife's small makeup mirror and a lot of stretching.

I can also vouch for the efficiency of their replacement device.

But another question, can two be installed in tandem with each other, each providing 30A, effectively providing 60A charge?

I'm not looking for comments re 'buy this instead', or :why', which I will explain at a later date ..... I do love the size of this B2B and have been impressed by the Votronic products I have already experienced.

Yes you can have 2 in parallel suitably wired and fused

thanks, looks like i will go down that path, mainly because of the size as i can fit them in somewhere completely out of the way in a ventilated area ..... wheras one larger B2B is a lot more difficult - i actually have a renogy 60A b2b that has never really worked but its just too big in the location i have it fitted.

It’s in the manual at the bottom of page 13.
