Is there a free , stanalone alternative to Visio?

Yed is the only free one. It's not bad but nowhere near as powerful as Visio. I have Visio in my 365 business subscription but used Yed a few times.

Another two to look at is Dia and draw.io I use both. I did look at yed but it is not opensource and worse still runs in Java

I don't commit to commercial software for the most part because they tend to go online and subscription based and ramp up the price.
Opensource means stability for years/decades. I am getting too old to keep relearning new software

i thought it was an add on, even for the business package ?

If it's included in your's would you mind letting me know what package you have as I have been looking at adding it.

ok thanks. Maybe its a legacy addition. It's certainly an extra on mine which I thought was a basic business one too.

The invoice simply says
Microsoft 365 Business Standard and costs me £10:30 pm. I've had it since 2014.

Visio is one of the products 365 lets me download and install.

Will look into my subscription, I pay annually so not sure if that makes a difference, it shouldn’t. But will look into Visio a bit more as was pretty sure it was an additional cost for me.
Maybe it was included when you originally took it out and as a result it’s a legacy add on. Mine is from 2017.
