Get him to see the Doc for different pills the first ones I was on were awful, daren't go anywhere after taking them for 2-3 hours when I was working if travelling didn't take them until clear of traffic.
Ones I'm on now hardly notice the effects a bit worse in cold weather. I'm now taking Bendro-flum-ethiazide (all one word no hyphens PC brigade kept changing it).

Mrs Margaritaman nipped to the loo on one trip. She was gone ages. I could smell pear drops/ acetone. When she finally came back to the front she'd decided to paint her toe nails whilst on the throne! Varnish was a bit smudged but acceptable.

Ps I was driving. Lol

It is doable. But not legal, safe or advisable.

As others have said, imagine a worst case scenario. An accident. Vehicle get rolled by an artic.. Driver is unconscious and can't tell rescue crew that passenger is in toilet. Rescue crew check all seat belted seats and find no one.... Injured/unconscious passenger is left in toilet cubicle for a long time......

A unimaginable scenario, passenger is returning from loo just as accident happens.. Passenger becomes projectile that kills driver...

A not so bad scenario, a police car is passing (or parked up) just as passenger is returning from the loo. Police observe unbelted passenger, Fine, points and possible court appearance?

I would advise planning trips around tablet requirements. Or carry a bottle so passenger can (in an emergency) relieve themselves from the passenger seat without removing seatbelt. If passenger is female, in addition to the bottle and she wee or similar (practice at home first I am told)....

Aww thanks for that they're the ones he is taking, but he still gets caught short. He might be having a pacemaker fitted and hopefully he can come off them eventually, he's ankles really swell up if he doesn't take them, he has some sort of heart failure problem, cheers

All good questions so far @duffs hope we are being gentle enough with you
How's the search going

Lol, did you ask similar ones then? Sometimes something so obvious clearly isn't :whatthe:

Everyone is being lovely so far, you were right it is a good forum, still looking and reading stuff, I actually printed off loads of Hymer stuff yesterday, OH wasn't aware of all my research until I took that home yesterday.

I'm not sure what he is expecting us to buy and he can be a bit snobby, it's difficult to get him out looking tho, I will suggest the motorhome show and see how hat goes down. It was he's suggestion after our last camping trip that he might only have one more camp in him, so we will see.

And there's a few members who remind me of the ones on UKCS a friendly helpful bunch xxx

Have always had the toilet in use while travelling, in fact I remember my ex wife sitting using the porta loo in our vw campervan going down the m6 all was well till we were alongside a coach and everyone could see in the window
The beauty of that van was the porta loo was under the rear jump seat which had a lap belt on it perfectly safe.

Vehicle get rolled by an artic.

I seem to remember that happening to someone on here a year or two ago.

They were broken down on a motorway hard shoulder and one of them went to the loo before leaving the van.

Cue artic.......

Luckily I believe she wasn't too badly hurt but for everyone saying it's perfectly fine, just do it, I wouldn't be so sure.

We usually pull over for a pee brake. Take the opportunity to make a drink too. However, I have made use of the facilities when stuck in traffic jams.

SWMBO has used the loo in motion occasionally but also gets up and wanders about for other (largely opaque reasons). I tell her it's illegal and dangerous but obviously she takes no notice. I do all the driving so we have to stop for me

Is there "actually" a law that states that you can't walk around in a motor home? As already stated you can walk around on a coach, use the loo, get a drink, and serve food.

To be honest we use the loo when travelling, and we often, on a nice straight bit of road make snacks always have done.

The existing seatbelt laws cover it.

If you don't have to wear a seatbelt in a motorhome when it's moving why are there designated travelling seats?

A PSV, whether a coach or bus, is a different category of vehicle so different laws apply. Even then if seat belts are fitted it's a requirement to use them. In theory you can get the same fine as you would if you were a passenger in a car although in practice that's probably unenforceable.

Next you'll be telling me that we shouldn't bake our Quiche in the oven en route!

Why? What's wrong with that? :D2

There's no requirement for a quiche to wear a seatbelt. We also sometimes have the slow cooker going while we're driving. It fits well in the kitchen sink.
We have been known to make and eat a sandwich while in queuing traffic, but that is illegal.

We were in a traffic jam recently, when the M6 was blocked and nothing was moving. I was the passenger so I sauntered back to use the loo. Would you believe it, at that very moment the queue started to move. I got the fright of my life. :D
