The type of string isn't an issue, however, if it's knotted the phone call just takes a little longer to get through. I have one of these phones, stops me being tied to one network.

I once read a Top Tip letter in the Caravan and Camping magazine from a guy who would go to the site toilets in the middle of the night and then be unable to find his way back to his van. He suggested to others who had similar problems to tie a piece of string to the van, walk to the toilets with it and then follow the string back to the van!
