Upgraded my Toilet Blue - What a difference

could you not get the wife to use the bushes?
no smell free?:LOL::rolleyes:

Is this what we are talking about when saying View attachment 292662 Bio wash liquid & laundry tab ? , fluid or powder for washing machines ? , for the liquid ones do you have to cut them open or do they desolve naturally ?
And is it only 1 for each empty, sorry but newbie question
They dissolve naturally. We usually put two in.

Bio wash liquid , any suggestion what brand ? If we are allowed to advertise .
Anything bio will work. We usually use Lidl's Formil brand. Sometimes use dissoluble capsules, sometimes the liquid version.

Aldi bio washing liquid is the most cost effective but most people use the pods.
We have found it very hard to even find non bio in France, you have to read the back but they all state ' with enzymes' - Bio.

Do you need bio tabs for 'coloureds' rather than 'whites'?

Can't do the washing with the blue so bio saves weight

I am lucky... I don't need to add anything to my black tank as my "wotsits" have a delicate fragrance very similar to Chanel No 5...

So can someone confirm what brand of washing capsules they have used successfully as I would like to give them a go please

"BLUE"................ :crying: :swear2::swear2::swear2:

Every campsite owners nightmare, especially if they are on a septic tank or their own sewage system...

A complete suck out and try to reinstate the bacteria they work from..

Dont use BLUE if you are on any site with a septic tank .. Please..:pray2:
Won’t do!

I like the Elsan Organic too, but our's is definitely green

I wonder if they've changed the colour of the liquid in recent years?

Due to our very infrequent use of it I'm still only on our second bottle over the last 6 years (and the first one was a small 500ml one to see if we got on with it). I think I may have to purchase another bottle sometime in the next year or so.

We are with you on this one. It costs more, but in our view does a better job so we don't mind the extra expense.

So for over 2 years now I had being using

At £9.49 for 4 litres and thought nothing of it other than its blue and smells like a caravan toilet.

Yesterday I ran out and was passing a Halfords store and nipped into to grab some as I was pretty sure they stocked it (well at least a different brand.

I ended up with

at £12.99 for 2 litres.

I thought its over priced but lasts months so never mind.

Anyway. 24hrs into using it the bathroom smells an absolute delight!

I had never really thought it smelt bad in there as I keep it super clean and tidy and flash wipe the surfaces and polish the mirror every time its used. But there was always a slight caravan toilet smell. I just put it down to the fact it is what it is.

But no.... This over priced blue liquid has a sort of perfume air freshener smell to it (not god awful magic tree type) and the bathroom really does have a gentle pleasant smell to it now.

Yes I think I have gotten over excited by blue liquid but anything that makes motorhome living nicer is a big plus.

I think I am a convert to spending more money on this stuff now.

Off to smell my bathroom (y)

Hi again , so bio washing stuff in the cassette is compatible with pink flush additive providing we clean the blue out of the cassette ?

I know nothing of all this hatred towards blue and the environment?

I was just under the impression it’s designed for purpose and that’s what I should be using?

Maybe I should research.

I do quite a bit of damage already burning an average 10tons of fuel a day at work

All blues are not equal these days: some have revised the recipe to make it more environmentally- and septic-tank-friendly. So best check the ingredients. From memory, I think the Thetford stuff might be OK now, but don't quote me on that!

I've tried cheaper varieties and have concluded that you get what you pay for. That is, I might just as well have not bothered to use anything. I also found a thread somewhere from motorhomers who advocated the use of detergent capsules. Not good :eek:. So my last purchase was a 2L Thetford "Aqua Chem Blue". Worth the extra to protect my nasal sensitivities, I feel. And I can also leave the chemical toilet disposal point without feeling guilty about the dreadful smell I've left for the next unfortunate user. BTW, why is it mainly the male of the motor homing species who ends up dealing with the chemical toilet? (Not exclusively I hasten to add, before I become the butt of feminine wrath!). :)

I do ours because Steve is disabled....but sometimes lifting it up to tip it our is a bit of a struggle!

Agreed. As far as I can tell there is at least no formaldehyde in it. So I wonder if it’s just old prejudices that makes everyone so down on it now....

See post #33. :)
Sorry I hadn’t refreshed post when I returned to it several hours later, hence the stupid question.

Sorry!

Hopefully, one day, admitting that you use Elsan Blue will be like admitting you drink and drive while watching child pornography.

How harmful can it be? Especially when it's buried in a Spanish sand dune.

We have used Aldi before but reading the thread didn’t realise they only work properly if the cassette is completely chemical free.
I always soak the whole thing inside and out in Radox we come home!
Radox!!!
I bet the back of it's all soft and flexible

An ex wore that I always said it was crap lol

If you don't have a Benidorm diet you don't need blue.

It's a toilet it's gonna have a smell but I can honestly say it's not that bad and only when you open the valve and then yer bum plugs it lol. A wee spray of lavender air freshener afterwards and no problem.

Better for the environment we all love to visit.
