TyrePal Offer

Ordered mine tonight with an extra sensor for spare wheel, been out in the wet with a torch looking at valve stems, seem to be brass though standard Frontier wheels are alloy. Many thanks for the heads up TerryL :-)

Another happy bunny. Got a TB99 set at the NEC in October. 2000miles and a couple of setting tweaks later all is fine. I also purchased them because I have no spare wheel.

Mine has just arrived and just in time as I'm getting real bored.
I didn't realise it was so small and neat (y)
So I'll soon be rechecking all my pressures and fitting including my spare :)

just in case

 thanks Terry
I phoned them up and the man said for a six wheel it would cost me £ 235+ .
Too much I said.
The four sensor unit only reads 4, not extra sensors they are for replacements after they break off.
Pity as I hate groping under the wheel to get the extensions and try to get the gauge on them

Just started setting up the TB99. Found you can only get max 5 sensors to register, the 5th being for the spare. So if you've got a tag axle then you need a different system.

I might get a set and use only on the rear wheels, I can get the front ones OK .

Come on Terry I did mine ages ago
I'm actually sitting just outside Dave Newells, he's doing the annual servicing etc for me in the morning. Thought I'd wait until he'd finished. I've done all the setting up, just need to screw them on.

If I understand the setting up instructions and if I've done it right, if you don't fit all the sensors it keeps warning you of low pressure. Well that's what's happening to me at the moment!

Doesn't seem to be a way to edit my post, but just to say that my Tyrepal and 6 sensors has been sold.

Right, van serviced and screwed the sensors on in the car park outside Daves. And they worked perfectly - all but one wheel showed as low pressure! But worked out ok once I got moving and performed fine on the (long) trip home. I'll recheck the pressures anyway.

I have had these for about a year. I do find that sometimes one of the sensors doesn't register immediately. Have found that after a few miles everything seems ok.

I'm well impressed with mine today on my first run. 6deg C and all four tyres rose by 8psi on my journey.

With mine I have noticed the rear off side tyre runs hotter than the others by as much as 5C, consequently the pressure is a few pounds higher than the nearside rear. When the rear tyres are cold they are within 1 psi of each other. I think it could be down the the exhaust gases heating the off side rear, anyone got any other suggestions why this might be so?

Make sure the brakes are not getting hot.

I've noticed front offside runs warmer than nearside - I'll check the brakes, (thinks - but they've only just been replaced, might need time to bed in).

Mine works perfectly, on all 6 tyres, 2 front and 4 across the rear (not 3 axles) on run down to Sicily in last week, all performed superbly, keeping me informed at all times on temperature and pressure, mine also runs hotter on the offside rear 2 tyres, can only put it down to exhaust as the other side n/s rears run much cooler as do fronts, very happy with set up and gives me more peace of mind when driving, also going to pick up trailer while I am here so will have a 10 unit system running on way home in springtime and will be able to see trailer pressures as well now, another weight of my mind when driving, also good to see system works in all weathers as had snow and freezing cold and nice warm weather coming down so good to watch system register all the different temps and pressures as I went through all this weather, First class bit of kit.
Regards Garry Flatpackchicken

Mine can run warmer on the side that is in the Sun.

Have emailed Tyrepal to see if they can offer us a Motorhome Fun member discount as no current offers on their website so more of us can try this popular product & be safer on the roads :)

Is @Jim still doing his tyre pressure monitors? I don't personally want one of these system as I do a walk round for a Mark 1 eyeball inspection prior to driving off.

I thought Jim's system looked pretty neat and don't cost an Arm and a Leg...

If you get any joy please let me know.
I'm after a set with 6 sensors.

Yes Jim's system is excellent if on a budget but they won't tell you if a tyre has an issue while you are travelling. Tyrepal gives you the opportunity to stop before the tyre is a write off.

We bought ours at the show and only just started using them. I am right in thinking every time you check the tyre pressure before setting of the senders have to be removed? Also does anyone take them off when the van is in for a service?

Spidey: I take mine off and replace with standard dust caps when the van is going in for a service, and then replace as soon as I pick the van up.

Don't worry - will post any reply from Tyrepal on here & add a new thread too to make sure as many Funsters get the chance of a deal if they agree some discount for Motorhome Fun members (y) We are considering 2 sets as would make our car journeys safer too & lots of running around to do this year hunting down the most suitable uni or our son - our poor old car has never done so many miles :)
